Skills not casting when using a model

I've tried a couple of models that seem to error out on the skills when I try them (eg. Black Argonite Pebbles). When I try to cast the aoe spell nothing happens except the animation but no cooldown is used and no spell is actually cast just the animation on the model. Any suggestions on the issue? Is it possible it is contradicting with another mod?

Cast range indicator breaks all targeted spells in practice mode. betting that's what's causing it.
