View Full Version : Vindicator Balance w/ Suggestions

Vindicator is pretty underpowered, except at early levels, because characters only have one spell and you can use Sage's lore easily without it being removed by a spell cast. Also, other mechanics on the hero are just silly.

My recommendation:
Sage's Lore: This ability is probably slightly too good early on but TERRIBLE late game. I recommend making the damage per second on this go to 15/30/45/60 from 20/30/40/50.

Master's Incantation:
AWFUL early game. VERY BAD! 15/30/45/60% of your intelligence is converted to damage. At level 1, thats 3 damage, 15 mana per hit, and a 3 second cooldown. The cooldown is currently 3/2/1/0, I recommend removing the cooldown entirely and perhaps reducing the mana cost to 5/10/15/15. The ability retains it's max level power this way. But even then, the ability might need a buff.

Glyph of Silence:
The aura effect is very cool and probably fine. However, the lose 1 intelligence aspect is really bad. First of all, it feels terrible to die to the vindicator and feel like you are permanently weaker. Second of all, 1 intelligence is pretty irrelevant. I recommend fixing both of these by making the effect steal maybe 3 intelligence for 5 minutes. I pulled those numbers out of nowhere.

Final Chapter:
The ability is cool, but it's cooldown is INSANE. By upgrading the ability you gain 1 second extra to the silence duration and you increase the mana cost by 100. I could be wrong, but that doesn't sound like much of an upgrade. I recommend making the cooldown lower with level like 140/130/120 and the mana cost increase by much less like 250/300/350

These changes would dramatically improve vindicator's play style and design, what do you think?
