View Full Version : [Game Play] Camera Randomly Centers.

I'm not sure what causes this, but sometimes when I'm playing, my camera will auto-focus (seemingly random to my knowledge) to whatever I've set my action focus to (normally the V button - "center on info" setting).

It appears, to the best of my knowledge to lock on to that setting (as when I click on an enemy unit, so long as the unit is in sight range, the camera will center on that hero).

I have turned off lock camera setting.
I have turned off the hotkey for "center on info".
I can not reproduce the bug reliably, it seems very random to me.
I have turned on "constrain cursor".
I have turned on "screen edge scroll".

I have "center" set to C.
Double-tapping C does not remedy the problem.
Double-tapping V (even though it is not set to anything) does not remedy the problem.

If anyone can offer any advice, or confirm if this is a bug. It's driving me insane.

I should add that restarting HoN normally fixes the problem.

I've been looking for the combination of keystrokes from before as well, but it seems you've had no luck either :(

could it be possible that it is a certain button procing this as you play? Like if it was bound to something before, you overwrote the binding with a new function and it didnt unbind the old function. It could be fixed by rebinding the command in the console, but I sadly do not know the context to use it in. Element if you could jut in here? Or if random simply means random, I got nothing.

I don't think that's possible, binding something to something new unbinds it from the old setting

SHOULD unbind, however you are one to surely know code sometimes has a fluke. I normally would say it's not possible, but it personally happened to me in another game, so I know its possible.

Well, if anyone happens to find a 100% replication procedure, post it here. Oh and PM me if you find one that's 100%, otherwise I might not notice it.

So basically... this is another sort of bug that's unreproducable so it won't be fixed, eh? :/

Okay, so we might've found something. I'm posting for my friend's sake, because he doesn't care much about the forums, but this is a pretty big problem.

We've tested this multiple times now and have come to the conclusion that the key combination

"Fn (Function) + Up Arrow" (normally controls Computer Volume) will lock the camera and keep it locked from game to game. The only way to remove the lock is to reboot HoN. It's an Intel-based Graphics card, Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Acer Aspire computer.

Upon hitting that key combination in the chat lobby (HoN XX, not pre-game lobby), the camera DOES NOT stay locked until pressing the combination again. We did so and took a screenie of the console when hitting Fn+UpArrow. This is what you get, not sure if it helps, but here it is. (http://imgur.com/WnVJb)

When getting into Practice Mode and seeing that the camera was not locked, we took another screenie, confirming that it was subsequently locked again. This is what you get, not sure if it helps, but here it is. (http://imgur.com/RbVDY)

The screenies say nothing useful to me, and they don't seem to give any clues, but I threw them up just in case. Whatever it is, it seems to be some sort of involuntary command that the game refers to Fn+UpArrow. I can not reproduce the bug on my own machine, but I am using an ATI Graphics Card.

Hope this sheds some more light on the situation.

I don't have a function key on my desktop so that explains why I never get it there anymore O.o

Need someone else with a Fn key to test.

I have one on my laptop, but can't get it to replicate. I'll take a look at her laptop and see what the Up Arrow is actually supposed to function as (on mine, it's Stop [media controls}.
