Please Fix The Mac Directory For 2.5.6

Please oh great ones at S2 Games. There are over 40 people trying to play right now and I'm sure more then that. All we need is for you to change the download link to 2.5.6 because the updater is not giving us all the files we need. Or if someone that has a mac and able to patch can post a file with their directory copied, we need anything right now honestly. YEW is busting his ass in the tech support forums but he needs some help there are many people posting about it. :cthu:

I have a Mac and I can play just fine. Well, I have no sound but it's been 5 months and S2 is not in any ways a good company, so they are not likely to even comment on it for a few more months. And I patched to 2.5.6 perfectly. What OS do you run?

I'm on OSX 10.6.8, i5 iMac 4gb ddr3, this game has run beautifully on this rig until this patch. You're one of the only ones that I've heard haven't had a problem. How hard would it be to upload your directory to a filesharing site?

Although I may be wrong here as I am not too knowledgable on Macs, if you know someone who does have 2.5.6 fully patched up, you may be able to copy the entire directory and replace the old. If the entire 2.5.6 patch is working, you can opt for a 2.5.3 one instead. However, I am not 100% sure if that does not violate HoN's ToS/copyright/privacy issues.

Short of that, you'll have to wait until the patch link is fixed, or a newer installer to be loaded onto the site.

I believe this is what he meant. I'm not sure how big your directory is though.

Terminal >> chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Manual patch (running through console log manually downloading each file it was stopping on from s2 filehost)
chflags nohidden
several work arounds for patching

YEWS has been trying to help a few of us but to his knowledge at this moment all we can do is wait for S2 to change the link for the mac download to the 2.5.6 client. *sigh*

Ultimately, S2, its time to dump Mac support. You guys are rubbish. I know you don't have a mac tech on staff, but you've had months to hire a new one and get this stuff fixed.

Edit: Maybe that is for Linux, wouldn't be able to tell... apparently once an issue is fixed for one person, they lock it so it can't be useful for anyone else to respond. Great support everyone.

My mac is doing the same... at about 6% it just looks like the update closes and just sits there... I paid plenty of money to play this game and get alt avatars and **** and to not be able to play when I would like is bs. S2 need to get on this now....


P.S. Problems like this make me can't wait for DotA2.

Of course I would not buy a Prius if it had a Ferrari badge, but I would rather buy a great car from a very good brand instead of buying a good car from an unknown brand. Not to mention that OS X Lion comes with pre-installed programs that could be worth hundreds of bucks (and you don't need an anti-virus- also saving money). And I assume that you have never used/owned a Mac, and thus, show your hatred towards it because of pure spite towards the people who do. You have never owned an Apple laptop or owned an OS X System. I have tried both Windows and OS X Lion, so my opinion is much more reliable than yours, you ignorant ****. Read a book, get some proper education, then go back to your shitty Windows 7 PC and enjoy the mediocrity of your system.

I lol'd. People who assume Mac users are rich hipsters who know nothing about technology are hilarious. Poor quality products? Yeah right. I bet you my 6 year old MPB laptop that has never once had a single hardware issue has as good as or better specs than whatever PC you're using.

This shouldn't be in Bug Reports. It's not a bug, it's just that new installers aren't uploaded and it's a problem that should be directed to Website Feedback.
