Hi. My friend and I are searching for a free mmo to kill time with. My internet is kinda crap so it would be best if its smallish. So far we've tried and nixed: Lineage 2, DnD online, City of Heroes, LOTR online, Wakfu, and AoC.

Thanks in advance.

Every game I've seen recommended on this forum that I've bought has turned out to be a good purchase. So asking here has generally been a good bet. I have money, I just have no intentions of buying another game until D3 comes out.

DC Universe
Maple Story
Allods
Some random ones on Steam

Meatball

FlyFF

Faeros

Perfect World International (Best free mmo in my opinion, some of me friends became unaddicted to WoW when they tried this bad boy)
Vindictus (If you are in America)
Forsaken World
Battle of the Immortals
Honestly wouldnt touch Allods since they made it extremely cash shop dependant after lvl 20. Everything else people suggested so far is fine.

Otherwise websites like (mmosite) and (onrpg) (gameogre) are great sources for games and sign up for as many betas as you can. Some great looking free stuff coming out.

They still have not fixed it.

aye i was watching a live stream of it not 10 minutes ago lol

and they also said their delaying the patch to fix it.
apparently the estimate at how much EA spent on this game is atleast above $300million though most likely around $500 mil, thats right HALF A BILLION $$ spent on a game and it flops in less than 1 month.

i cannot even begin to fathom the amount of failure

R.I.P. Black Isle

I didn't even know it launched yet, that's how below the radar it is. I don't know one single person on IRC who plays it, not a single one.

My flatmate plays it, I could hear him rage in frustration as he was repeatedly analized by imperials this afternoon.

Oh, and your "half a billion" figure is also way off.

http://gigaom.com/2011/12/05/ea-star-wars-the-old-republic-beta-test-figures/

"EA will break even once it hits one million subscriptions, Brown said."

Oh, it did that two weeks after release.

Tyrando

the first month is free

no one actually pays anything till like tommorow or so when the free month ends.

so regardless of X subs it means nothing because they aint gained any $$ beyond the initial purchase

o and on that subject
Bioware removed the unsubscribe button from the Account page, so you cant unsubscribe without using a workaround, not even kidding

i've played my fair share of failed mmo's in my time, but this game right ere is gaming history, the servers are also incapable of performing a rollback.

the estimate of around half a billion stems from this

The first month is not free. It is included in the price. A subscription is a subscription, in the first month, too.

Now just admit you were wrong.
