As a small quality of life improvement change the cast range for Artesia's Magic Missile from global to 1200 (its max range), then boost it back to global while her ult is active.
This means that you can accurately judge the max range of the skill by its cast range, especially since there aren't many (any? didn't check) 1200 range abilities.
EDIT- long ranged abilities - fissure/powerthrow/rockets/javelin/probablymore - all these have castrange=effectrange
To reiterate - the change ONLY applies while her ult is not active, so cross-map shenanigans are still possible.

I didnt vote because i dont think it has to be fixed not because your suggestion is bad but because i think it was intended this way.
The max range is 1200, all the time already. You NEED to have Global range in order for your character to cast it. Because if you cap it at 1200 she will just run until she can cast to hit that spot.

^ agreed with above - but I voted no, I think it is either a bad idea, or just poorly explained (as it appears you are saying you want it to be global except when ulting, which is backwards at best, but even if you meant the other way around I disagree...)

No, the cast range of the spell is global, all the time already. You do not need to have global cast range unless her ult is active, hence the reason for this change. It honestly seems like it should've been implemented this way but the currently way was the easy way out so that's how it was done.

All have cast ranges that equal the maximum range of their effect.
The ONLY hero that I can think of (aside Artesia) that has a ground-target line based ability with a castrange different to it's effect is :witc:'s Graveyard which has an effect 700 long but cast range is only 500.
The only spells which appear to function differently are blink-type spells (and PK) which you can click anywhere with but will only move you the maximum range of the ability from your current position.
