Clan Searching:

This page offers the ability to search and sort through the entire list of clans. On the left you can type into the name and tag fields and refine the results as you type. Any of the fields are sortable and you can sort refined results from typing.

You may notice a new data field called CAI, if you hover over the label it will tell you it is a measure of how active a clan is.

CAI: (clan activity index)

Someone joins your clan = 5 points
public match (3 or more people from same clan on same side - pub stomping) = 30 points
scrimmage (4 or more people from same clan on same side vs 4 or more people from same different clan on same side) = 60 points
clan match (will be defined with leagues and tournaments) = 100 points

All of these events are added up (if the clan has at least 5 members) for the previous week when calculated and multiplied by a number determined by how many members they have and how many inactive members (have not played a game in 1 week) they have. The larger your clan is the more inactive members will hurt you. If you have a large clan and everybody is active your multiplier will be high. This allows for small clans to compete by having a higher percentage of active members while still giving large clans credit if they really do just have an awesome clan.

Clan Profiles:

The Clan Profiles section, like the rest of this sub domain, utilizes predictable URLs to aid navigation without searching. To visit any clan profile simply add their clan tag after /clan/

example: http://clans.heroesofnewerth.com/clan/S2 takes you to the S2 clan profile.

example: http://clans.heroesofnewerth.com/clan/S2/members takes you to our roster page.

Every clan has a profile that is editable by any officer or the leader. Clan avatars, hello messages, descriptions, and titles are customizable. There is a comment section, news section, and events.

Events:

Clan events are similar to twitter. Every time a public game, scrimmage, or clan match takes place the clan events is updated with the game number and outcome. This will eventually be linked with the replay site. Users can also add their own events much like twitter. The events archive shows the most recent 30 events with applied filters. Clicking a filter will add that filter to the results. As of now, events are deleted after 30 days.

Clan Management:

Leaders and officers can manage their clan from this web site even more effectively than in-game at the moment. The management abilities include:



Creating a clan
Leaving a clan
Promoting a member
Demoting a member
Setting up an application
Flagging your clan as recruiting
Viewing clan applications
Accepting / Rejecting clan applications
Inviting a user to become a member of your clan
Posting clan news
Posting clan events


Most of these are pretty straight forward. A nifty new feature of this system is the application process.

Applications:

On the clan profile (/clan/clan_tag/edit) at the bottom is a check mark that your clan is recruiting. Upon checking this box you will be asked to specify how many questions you would like to put on your application up to a max of 20.

After inserting the questions for your application your clan is marked as recruiting and anybody can come and answer those questions.

Users may only have one active application to your clan (meaning you have not yet accepted / rejected the application) but may resubmit an application as many times as they want.

Once you accept an application the user will be PM'd an invitation to the clan. If you reject them it will send a PM alerting them to the decision.

Invitations:

Clan invitations send a PM to the user with two possible links to follow. One link will accept the invitation and add them to the roster and the other will decline the invitation. The user must be logged into the account that was invited on the page that accepts or declines the invitation.

Clan Creation:

Clan creation from the web site is almost exactly like in-game except the method by which someone accepts an invitation to sign the clan charter is sent by PM. Once all the signatures are received the clan is created.

If one user declines the charter signature the entire charter is deleted and you must start a new one.

Your clan has had a leader for most of the day. A check is ran once a day to see if there is no leader (granted when a leader leaves in the game or on the site it WILL [eventually - does already promote on the site] promote or ask you to promote) and it will promote the eldest officer or member if no officer if there is no leader.

You can also force this check on your clan by being logged in and visiting your clan profile.

It is merely a measure of how often clans do things as a clan. The numbers can be tweaked very easily if need be and once we have organized things like clan matches, tournaments, and leagues you will really see some different results taking place.

Hey there S2. First of all very well done with the game I love it and i am looking forward to see it finished.

I have noticed a couple of small bugs with the website.

1) I have to login multiple times to gain access to different sections of the website.
Suggestion: try make 1 central login for the whole website.

2) The new clan section i cant upload a JPG image. I have tried to resize the image to 100X100 , rename it to .jpeg , .jpg and no luck after all. The only way to upload the image is as GIF and its quite ugly
Suggestion: Try make the image uploader recieve jpg, png,gif or bmp and resize automatically if image is bigger than required size.

3) When login with my account i can still click on purchase game which is not necessary as i already purchased it

4) The forum button is not avaliable for me to click on even tough i have logged in with my username and password. I need to click on PLAY BETA and then login again and only then i can click on FORUM.

Thats all i have noticed for now hope u keep up with the good work.

I've just created a clan, and invited friends, so i started looking around, clicking here and there. First I've promoted one of the guys, and he became 'officer', then i promoted him again, so he became 'leader' and I 'officer'. After that i gave him link to the page, and asked him if he can click promote next on my nick, but he said he doesn't see promote. Then during the game in the clan management i rightclicked on him and clicked 'demode(clan)'. so right now, i am officer, and all others are members, we have no leader :D how can i be leader again?

I have a question. We just approved the charter for our clan, Dumbledores-Army [DAO], but all we get is the blank brackets. Also when we go to our clan page, it is all blank.

Dunno where the hell that would be, there is nothing in the clan app that is not alphanumerical and every field is 1-32 chars. :confused:

Similar to Res's post, I'm wondering if HoN can start disbanding some old clans with inactive members. The clan I want to make, well, the clan tag has been taken by a group of 5 people, 3 of who haven't been active for 3 months, and the other two who haven't been active since retail started 2 weeks ago, which probably means they didn't even buy the game and I can't even ask ingame for them to disband.

how do i disband a clan

I created a clan (GR3 (http://clans.heroesofnewerth.com/clan/GR3/)) but at http://clans.heroesofnewerth.com/admin says "You are not a member of a clan." Why ??

You have to get all the charter members to ratify the charter on their little login bar at the top of HoN webpages (like the forums).

The real problem I see is why can you promote someone to leader on the website clan management but you can't in HoN? Too easy to accidentally hit it or something?

So I made the clan on the website, and it says I'm the owner. But I'm not an admin of the clan, nor can I apply for membership. I have no idea what I can do as "owner" and I don't know how to invite members or how to invite myself even

i hosted a clan with the clan tag **** and clan name fishing under crack kills but there stands that their are no members in this clan and nobody of the guys i wrote under the first 4 members got an PM. sry for my bad english but i hope to get an answer in near future = )

Can the clans be arranged/ordered ascending or descending according to CAI ? If it isn't possible at the moment (which I sure cannot do ) can you guys (S2) make it possible, pretty please with a cherry on top ? XD

Hello everyone, nevermind the fact that my clan has always been bugged (no tag and no clan title), I just want to leave this clan right now and I just can't! There is no leave buttom ingame, nor do I have a way to do it on the clan management website.
