is not committing errors. Boil away all the other stuff about 'feeding' or 'map awareness' or 'knowing builds', all of that can be folded into the category of errors.

New players always commit errors. That's fine. You're new. You're not expected to know any better. What is expected is that

1. You recognize when you're committing an error, either through figuring it out yourself (i.e. dying) or having someone point it out to you, and
2. You rectify the error and take pains not to commit it again.

Bad players repeat their mistakes and refuse to fix their errors. Experienced players commit fewer and usually less costly errors, 'pro' players no longer commit errors at the individual level (team scrimmages present errors on the strategic level, i.e. decisions as to when to push, offensive vs defensive wards, etc).

Keep this in mind if you're playing and you want to get better. All those trick videos that are out there (like Merlini pulling off batshit stunts with zeus and blink dagger) are just good players showing off their chops, but none of that is core to what makes them a good player. What happens is they don't commit any of the several common errors that plague newer players, like running off to farm when your forest is warded, or getting caught outside of base, opening a push opportunity.

Learning all the skill and item builds and learning the map is basic information designed to help you avoid committing errors, but it's up to you to make sure you don't play poorly.
