Legio cut lane strat

This is an annoying strat, that im still wondering why is even allowed.. With a good support legio can cut lane get all farm from creeps (due to his 2 bucklers) and get heal heal from e.g nymph. Had this combo against me while i was soloing with chron top lane (HB). I still got problems understanding whether this is an allowed strat, and appearantly it is. So waht would be the ultimate combo for such a lane? When you get such an advantage on tower, e.g a jungler or mid would be forced to help you and you can get extra gold from their woods while they try fight of an indestructable legi. Of course it can depend on picks on the opponent team, but in most cases this strat works every time and usually result in a win for legis team. So to abuse what can work best, and how can this strategy be perfectionated (is that even a word? Waat ('O') )?

tl;dr - don't solo a melee with a melee jungler on your team when there's a lego on the other team.

if you want to know how to stop it, just read the other threads i linked, it's come up several times in the past few weeks alone. lego cutting basically only works vs people who are bad at this game, no offense

Just get a hatchet and let him do it all day while you also get every single creep uncontested until your team has the levels / nukes to deal with him if you don't have a lineup to deal with him at level 1?

It would work best for Legionnaire's team to have a pseudo tri lane with a jungler by the same lane they are skipping so that they can come to their aid when **** hits the fan.

A good lane versus them (tho only when you know that youll actually meet that strat,) is forsaken archer and slither. Slither will do most of the harras, and forsaken will farm. Try to make sure slither hits two as forsaken hits 3 and forsaken has creeps on his 3nd ability.
slither levels 2nd, then 1st, forsaken levels 1-3-1 leaving slither with a 1-1-0-0 and forsaken with a 2-0-1-0.

When u got that you just start off with slither going with a poison spray and you both deal good damage with the slow. When the slow comes a bit off, you uses forsakens immobolize (crippling volley.) The auto attacks on these two heroes makes it hard for him to heal and get away. The turnaround is if somehow they have outleveled you good and demented is level 3, with a level two unbreakable, then the lane gets simply impossible.

But i think this combo is the one most likely to hit. A 5 sec jav from valk is ofc just as great.

This is a bad strat that ONLY works in lower brackets.

How to counter:


get mid to help you
get their creeps past your tower so they will clash with yours. If you time it right the wave will clash under your second tower and they cant get farm there while your lane mate farms at the first tower.
always focus support. be it DS or Nymph if you focus them and they are forced to heal themselfs both will leave because legi will not get healed.
NEVER come close to legi when your creeps are attacking him (Thats how you can get killed) so keep your distance. When the creeps are dead you can get close to him and harass (if you are ranged).

I love soloing with Chronos against a Legionnaire that does this strategy. With Stout and Hatchet and Tangoes, you can just run around the tower and last hit every single creep and get your LifeTube really quickly.

I encountered this in a recent clan match up. We just ate the creeps at tower, until our mid felt strong enough to help us out (lvl 3-4). We double tapped 'em, they came back and tried again, and we double tapped 'em again. Then they stopped.

If you are solo chronos just run around your tower and last hit the creeps. Farmed chronos > Farmed lego

I laugh really hard whenever they do this. Easy bloodlust for me every single time. Its so easy to counter that all I had to do as ****ing sandwraith was right click and nuke a few times, even though they had a nymph with him.

If your goal is to shut down this strategy, there are some heroes to strongly consider:
:deme: has already been mentioned, for obvious reasons.
:pyro: with Fervor or :slit: with Toxicity can put Lego in a world of hurt if he doesn't flee.
:succ: can take an interesting approach: as soon as the creep wave would reach Lego, cast Mesmerize on him and the creeps will run right by him.

I saw a good successful one once, the guys they lane-cut against were still level 1 at like 5 minutes due to failure to counter

But again I've also seen people who try this, both die, then proceed to get right back in there and die again...
