Behemoth - "The Sacrifice"

I'm farming in a lane, when I suddenly spot 5 enemy heroes pushing mid. I tell my team to get there as fast as possible, and start running towards mid. When everyone is set up, I blink in to a group of 5 enemies and 1-2 groups of creeps. Woaw, everyone is low on hp. I throw off some Fissures, Enrage/Shockwave(for stun) and try to autoattack the lowbies. But waddya know? I always end up with getting 5 assists, 3 assist and 1 death etc.
I've never experienced getting a kill from blink/ulti/throw out as much dmg as possible-combo.
Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

In 6 of 10 combos I die, and if I manage to have some leftover hp, and getting chased by a couple of nasty dudes, no one even thinks about saving my ass. Everyone runs past me to catch those lowbies.

Generally Behemoth doesn't get kills. That is his job, and rarely will you actually kill somebody with the combo. However, it gets everybody so low that it is difficult for the opposing team to recover.

Unfortunately there is little a behemoth can do after his combo, so most people just let him die in favor of more important things, like killing the enemy.

you also dont require a lot of items to be effective, Portal Key and Mana Ring and you are done. This means that you getting killed isnt really that big of an issue money wise, compared to item dependent heroes.

In theory, all kills that a Behemoth get should be solely from using his fissure to kill an escaping enemy, otherwise the gold is wasted.
