The current system from RAP of HoN don't punish trashtalker, badmanners guys.
Hon trashtalker's fame is spreading even in beta DOTA2..All know HoN players as the most badmanners of the MOBA genre.
Look at DOTA2 report system, they have option for report voice abuse and chat abuse:

Chat abuse is bannable, I'm pretty sure. But it has to be severe.
I imagine it's to stop everybody from crying and running to the GMs whenever somebody calls them bad. Man up.

I doubt voice data is stored by Valve. The storage space for that would be astronomical. I assure you Valve uses an identical report system as S2 (albeit proportionally larger staffed).

How exactly does this work?
A lot of people save abuse for the microphones citing that it can't be tracked and therefore are safe.

I don't think this game records voice, but DotA2 does, that's why if someone says things to you you won't be able to report them, cause S2 doesn't have voice chat logs.
I'm sure they could add it though if they wanted to. Depends on if they want to. I don't personally think that it matters much at all, I don't recall ever hearing anyone trash talk through their mic enough to warrant reporting them. Presumably because everyone is 12 and they can't use bad words out loud without their parents getting mad.
On another note, I don't think verbal abuse warrants getting banned anyway. They're words, if people truthfully get offended and care about an anonymous person says to them they need to get off the internet.

RAP does all it can, and the GM's that work it bust their ass, Yukari and the other guys put so many hours in a week that people have no idea about. A few of them average more than 100+ tickets a week and they are still recruiting more GM's so I don't think anyone should be *****ing as the player base is the problem not the RAP sytem.

You're kidding yourself if you think DotA is any friendlier than HoN, or that DotA2 isn't gonna be filled with the same kind of people as every other AoS game.
RAP is never gonna catch all the 'bad men'; in fact it won't even get the majority. No company is gonna hire the amount of people it would take to respond to every RAP report and watch every reported replay. There were 58k people online last I checked, I bet that's thousands of reports a day.
And you're complaining about verbal/text abuse? This is AoS, bad manners is honestly part of the genre by this point.
can anyone confirm that voice communication is recorded in dota 2 and you can listen to it when watching a replay? if so... that is ****ing awesome!

Wow, no. ARTS is used by the LoL community, and happens to be the most inaccurate of the three, falsely implying that DotA has "more action" than Starcraft. The pure term is Fortress Assault Game, or FAG. Sounds good, and has a great short form.
Back to topic. Oh yea, since there's no derogatory for an Estonian, I often get called everything from cracker to a chink most of the time. And I laugh heartily. Valve is handing out Sesame Street band-aids to the boo boo babbies who can't handle the psychological requirements of HoN and DotA. And this is bad, because the verbal assaults are just as vital to the game as assaulting the enemy fortress.

However I do think people who say "bro" 24/7 should be deleted and ip banned from the game...
hon replays already contain alot of data. chuck in 10channels of audio and the compressed data will explode of the present 10meg per game (part of the reason replays older than x months are deleted - storage)
does valve have replays like hon?
