The semi-finals for the biggest and best HoN tournament to date are finally here. In the top half of the bracket 1up (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=37) will be facing We Heart Pigs (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=58) in an epic battle which will give one of them the chance to compete in the finals for the title of the world's best HoN team.

1up (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=37) is a relatively unknown team but has destroyed all the competition who have stood in their way. So far they have defeated its not a purse, its a satchel (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=137), Pakan Dotan Ystavat (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=140), think positive (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=102), and lastly Soul Society (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=41) whom they defeated so decisively that Soul Society (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=41) conceded after only one game. The only negative aspect of all 1up (http://honleague.com/competitions.php?do=viewteam&id=37)'s victories is that all the teams they defeated were unknowns. They had, without a doubt, the easiest path in the whole bracket to make it to the semi-finals and have yet to be tested against a top a team.

Livestream wont work very well. I get 7 FPS and the quality is less than great. Besides that, if I were to also record using fraps the FPS would take an even greater fall. Any other ideas? Tobi gave me some information on how to record using the software Gamestah uses, but I don't have access to the live streaming information.

Eastern Daylight Time? Let me google that... Yep spot on. That's normal US east time, until like the end of october(or the 26th or whatever day the states decide it stops).

Krangry doesn't want to shoutcast I believe, just stream, which would be good enough for me, but if it's getting shoutcasted live, that works too. Xfire does seem to lag less than the e-rev stream stuff though, but whatever as long as we can see the matches.

cast was pretty annoying to watch, announcers were showing no judgment on what to say. maybe they felt awkward around that random girl who was talking on there, trying to make jokes and so on. it's a shame because a few of the guys announcing clearly have some talent.

totally agree with what's been said before about the non-respectful way they treated 1up. hearing whp in vent was a good feature though, i'd rather just listen to that all the way.

Awful casting. The awkward jockeying for the chic's attention was just painful to hear, and the disrespectful attitude toward 1up was really tasteless. Sounded like a couple of nerds high on soda trying to be 'cool'. I've seen previous casts (Stridah's coverage of QuC vs smf in particular) that were quite good, these guys have talent clearly but this cast was just powerfully uninspiring.

P.S. Had I casted this game, I (a 17 year old doing it out of his house living with his parents) would've casted 5 HoNLeague matches while E-Rev (a major shoutcasting network with a huge team of casters that has an exclusive agreement with the league itself) would still be at 3. Score's 3-5, E-Rev takes the lead. Don't miss the next game, else not only will everyone be upset, but I might take the lead.

Difference between the casts is simple. I dont have a monotone voice.

Here's something more for differences:
1. Recorded in crappy quality, it doesn't hurt if you can read the text.
2. Laggy site, if it's due to bandwidth it would be pathetic, as i would be able to handle that traffic on my home connection alone.

3. Other casters don't make up any bs about having exclusive rights, did you read the license agreement of the game?
Did the players sign any contract saying the can't ban your ass and refuse to have the game streamed?

99% sure the answer is no to both questions, i'm 100% sure of question two.

4. Grow up.

Edit: Also put that logo of yours top left or wherever it doesn't block vital information.

I have yet to see a good e-rev commentary, place's a joke. Even ChaosSmurf is better, and for him it's just a hobby. He's not a 'professional e-sport commentator', ditto for Sinister.

1. This is not an appropriate venue for flaming teams. If you felt a certain team played poorly, post this in a constructive manner. e.g. "Team Sucker really got outplayed here. Their mid solo scout with Dagon 5 and no boots was not a viable build against a very skilled solo Soulstealer, who dominated all the CS of the lane".

2. This is not an appropriate venue for flaming shoutcasters. If you felt the shoutcasters did a poor job, post this in a constructive manner. e.g. "I felt that Sucker's shoutcast was poor. His camera work consistently missed several important team fights and ganks, and his commentary showed his lack of knowledge of the competitive strategies used today."

If you want to tell someone how 'noob' they are, send them a PM. Better yet, just send me a PM saying how much a 'noob' you think they are, and save everyone some hurt feelings.

This is a major tournament in which everyone (organizers, shoutcasters, participants) is trying hard to deliver their best performances. I see no justification for any of the flame wars (of which there are several) taking place in this thread.

Anyway nice, e-rev should look into switching partnerships on their streaming tools though, that silverlight thingie isn't really that good. I didn't have lag issues, but the quality is very meh in this day and age.

yea we got really really lucky and we managed to play people with one arm in each of our previous matches. Like by the way we played there must have been no other way we could get to the semi-finals.

Jokes aside, WHP was the only really good team we have played so far while scrimming / in our tourney. Most of our games have been like our game against SS, pretty one sided and as a result didn't get to learn much from any of the other teams.
