Is there any terminology (item names, hero names, etc.) from DotA that are commonly used in HoN? I never played DotA, and occasionally I'll see things mentinoed (here, in game) and have no idea what they are.

Refresher is the one that comes to mind first. In the context I've seen it, I get the impression that it is an item that had some sort of mana regen on it, but the only thing I can find that looks like it would fit the description is the Refreshing Ornament, which doesn't seem to fit the bill at all.

The Refresher Orb refreshes your skills cooldown. For example: as Hellbringer you can summon two Malphas. Summon, refresh, summon.

Most of the terms are the original names from DotA or shortened versions of whatever is in this game (ss = soulstealer, etc)

I'm at work right now but you can either search for the terms (they're all over the forums) or wait until someone has time to reply with a better list/examples.

Yes, there is a gigantic list in fact. Most players migrating from DotA to HoN who have not yet made the transition to the new names of the items, heroes, and spells of HoN will commonly refer to them by their DotA counterparts. I've even seen Hellbringer referred to as Warlock even though the only ability they share is their Ultimate, and even then the Malphas is a slightly different unit from the Infernal.

Refresher is in reference to Refresher Orb. In HoN, it's called Restoration Stone. It's primary ability is that it allows a hero to reset all cooldowns on his or her abilities at the activated cost of 375 mana. The Restoration Stone itself has a 210 seconds cooldown. And no, you cannot buy two of them so you can repeatedly refresh back and forth. In fact, HoN hasn't implemented item cooldown refresh on Restoration Stone.

The technical terminology as far as gameplay and mechanics goes, however, remains largely unchanged. These terms being lane, gank, push, pull, farm, neut, rosh, dive, juke, back, deny, and a number of other four-lettered words that I may have failed to recall. If you'd like an explanation of any of the technical terms or just an exhaustive list of their definitions, feel free to ask.

Sir, Refreshing Ornament is a Headdress of Rejuvenation.

Damn similar names. I realized I probably made a mistake after I posted. Fixed.

Probably the most common term will be "BKB" which stands for Black King Bar from DOTA. The HoN port of this item is the Shrunken Head.

I also still say vlads all the time when referring to Abyssal Skull.

Man, that's a scary thing people do nowadays. Its too technological to me, almost magic.

The other common term I still hear (and use, sometimes) is Zeus to refer to Thunderbringer. Zeus was his DoTA name, and it's still easier to type a quick "ZEUS! ULT!", at least for me.

Perfect, looks like that mod is exactly what I need. I feel like I've got a hang of the gameplay, just having some trouble with some of the terms, and I feel retarded enough in game when someone says "you should have item x" without having to ask what item x is.

Thanks to all.
