Fallen Angel

Base Stats

Speed: 300
Range: Melee
Affiliation: Hellborne
Primary Stat: Intelligence

STR: 20 (+2.0/Medium)
AGI: 17 (+1.9/Medium)
INT: 23 (+3.0/High)

Story

(May need some serious cutting to fit the hero description box.)

Imagine existence in a place of pure light and joy in Sol's embrace. Then imagine being hurled down to endless darkness, agony and despair. Such is the fate of the fallen angels, servants who rebelled against their Master. Some dedicate themselves to seeking redemption, while many fall in the lot of the Hellborne, wishing only to drown all of Sol's creation beneath their shadow.

Sound & Visual Theme

The Fallen Angel would look tall, dark and handsome, as one should. Long black hair and slightly priestly vestment like Janos Audron (from Legacy of Kain) above, but darker and adorned with inverted pentagrams. He moves by flying close to ground with his wings but he lands when standing still or attacking. His weapon is his claws.

He sounds slightly playful with just a hint of camp. Something like male blood elves from WoW, I suppose.

Skills

Shadowsphere
http://www.guildwars.com/images/professions/skillicons/mesmer/blackout.jpg

Flavor text: The Fallen Angel creates a sphere of magical darkness, hiding allies within and hampering enemy vision. The Fallen Angel gains increased movement and attack speed while inside the sphere.
Description: Enemy units outside target area cannot see inside. Enemy units inside target area have a greatly reduced sight range. Caster gains 5/10/15/20 % attack and movement speed while inside.
[Activable]
Area of Effect: 450 radius
Target: Area
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Mana cost: 60/65/70/75
Cast range: 700
Duration: 10/15/20/30 seconds

Idea: This skill is supposed to be sort of a mix between Broodmother's webs and Lucifer's Scorched Earth (both from DotA), enabling you to create a sort of a domain for yourself and your allies to provide lane control, and later on to provide assistance in chasing enemy heroes and avoiding ganks by helping juking and avoiding enemy spells. The shadowsphere would work by creating a fog of war on the area that cannot be seen through by enemies outside of the sphere. Enemy units INSIDE the sphere have their sight range reduced to about melee range.

Possible Issues

Too imbalanced? Maintaining a shadowsphere could potentially mean you and your lane partner are practically immune to harassment early game except when last hitting. Potential fix would be to put an artificial fade time before the units are concealed.

Visual: A black shadow the expands from the top of the sphere to cover the area. Makes a low humming noise.

Possible Subskill

Collapse
http://www.guildwars.com/images/professions/skillicons/mesmer/blackout.jpg
Flavor text: Collapses the nearest shadowsphere, damaging enemies within.
Description: Enemies inside the shadowsphere take 25/50/75/100 damage and have a 10/15/20/25 % miss chance for 5 seconds.

Idea: This is an optional extra, I don't really know if it's necessary as Shadowsphere is quite strong by itself.
Visual: The shadowsphere... collapses.

Draining Blast
http://www.guildwars.com/images/professions/skillicons/necro/lifesiphon.jpg

Flavor text: Imbues Fallen Angel's attacks with dark power, allowing him to strike a foe at a range, draining it's essence.
Description: Makes a ranged attack with 5/10/15/20 % bonus damage. Successful hit drains 1 from each stat, giving it to the caster for 6 seconds.
[Activable, Orb Effect, Autocastable]
Range: 500
Target: Enemy unit
Cooldown: 6/5/4/3 seconds
Mana cost: 20

Idea: Gives FA a periodic ranged attack that works as an orb effect and can therefore be used in orb walking and last hitting creeps, but it's also limited by the cooldown. Also I love spammable skills.

Another format would be be a passive similar to Jeraziah's, giving you a free ranged attack every three seconds, if fuzzing around with orbs is too complicated.

Visual: Shoots a black orb like thing, similar to DotA's Necrolyte's attack projectile, except darker. After impact, a streak of green flies back to FA, similar to life and mana leech animations.

Fall From Grace
http://www.guildwars.com/images/professions/skillicons/paragon/angelicbond.jpg

Flavor text: The Fallen Angel shows his enemies just how the fall from grace can feel, picking them up in the air and hurling them down to the ground.
Description: Target enemy and enemies in 300 range of target take 75/150/225/300 damage, target is stunned for 0.5/1.0/1.5/2.0 seconds.
[Activable]
Range: 200
Target: Enemy unit
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Mana cost: 110/120/130/140

Idea: This is a pretty cookiecutter stun/AoE nuke that looks cool. I'm open to more creative suggestions.

Visual: FA picks the target up, does a quick rise and a loop in the air, then swoops down, hitting the target into the ground beneath him.

Shadow's Embrace
http://www.guildwars.com/images/professions/skillicons/mesmer/conjurenightmare.jpg

Flavor text: The Fallen Angel drags his foe with him to the Shadow realm, out of reach of everyone else.
Description: Teleports next to target and gives you and the target Shadowbound for 5/7/9 seconds.
[Activable]
Range: 500
Target: Enemy hero
Cooldown: 120 seconds
Mana cost: 150
Cast range: 700
Duration: 10/15/20/30 seconds

Shadowbound: Affected unit is immune to all attacks and skills except from other units with Shadowbound and is unable to attack or use skills on anyone without Shadowbound.

Idea: This skill is basically a 1v1 initiator (as Aoda put it) that shuts you and the target enemy out of the rest of the world. You can only attack each other and be attacked by each other for the duration. If either of you die, the effect ends prematurely. You can use it to engage a target enemy without him getting support from his allies, or stop an enemy hero from attacking an allied hero. In teamfights, you can shut down a specific enemy hero that's giving your team a problem, like a Behemoth and kill him yourself while your team deals with the rest.

When used wrong, this skill also can have huge drawbacks. Ruining an allied gank, getting yourself screwed without allied support if the target ends up being stronger than you.

Possible Issues

I realize this skill can be considered a huge killstealing machine, but then again, so can Thunderbringer's ultimate.

This isn't really a friendly skill for new players or pub games.

Visual: FA sinks into his own shadow, then rises up from the ground behind the target, then folds his wings around the target and whispers "Come with me...". You and the target become black and white, and if possible for both of you, everything else looks black and white for the duration of the skill to signify your shift into the Shadow World.

Comments please!

Man, very interesting. I don't know enough about character creation to say if those are bad skills are not but they look pretty balanced. Skill one & two might have too little of a mana cost, skill one could cap at 100 and skill two could be taken to 50. If those seem wrong to you then nvm. Good build though.

That's Janos Audron.

And more guild wars skills!

Can anyone not copy every single guild wars skill icon ever?

They're the easiest to come by, they're reasonably sized and they look informative. They're only supposed to be examples anyway, so what's the problem.

Great concept. Fairly balanced. Only problem is it's not noob friendly, but other than that this hero rocks

So which mechanic do you think is better for Shadowsphere? The vision impairment, which is nice but undoubtedly has some issues and trouble implementing, or invisibility, which could be limited to only FA if necessary (and/or make it similar to Scout's wards, which become visible if you are in certain range of them) and has a counter.
