This actually happened a while ago, but haven't had the time to make a post again until now.
Pretty much the same situation, my microphone doesnt send sound in the game. Microphone symbol doesn't even pop up and no-one can hear me. However, when I am in a skype call with my friends, this all runs smoothly and icon pops up as well as sound sending.
I have the same computer/microphone/drivers etc as the previous thread.
