Competitive Tri-Lane?

Was curious if any teams have been playing around with Tri-Lanes. I remember the whole 6.3X excitement over tri lanes dropping off once Merlini destroyed one solo, but I haven't played dota in a bit.

Anyway, have any clans scrimmed using a Tri-Lane recently?

Didnt see a single replay with a trilane in the last few months.
Bottle forces 1 player to constantly roam the map.

I could just think of a jungler ganking a defensive (double) lane early game.

A tri-lane with Glacius or Nymph for mana regen might work actually :)

If anyone's interested in trying this with friends sometime, I suggest Nymph, Legion, Puppet.

Nymph for mana/heals, legion for spin and taunt and puppet for puppetshow which forces them to attack legion for a couple seconds. It might be worth some testing.

I'm sure all the teams are still working around the clock to come up with strats that are out-of-the-box but not too extreme yet, trilanes have been known to show some severe side effects if the defenders are able to hold them off long enough.

Tri Lanes only work in DotA if you dominated the lane, got lots of kills, and killed the first tower in a reasonable amount of time. Someone tried to do it against MYM one time against Sent bottom lane, and Merlini destroyed a tri-lane by himself with Zeus.



So yeah, tri laning is actually a really bad idea.
