The Gauntlet

Welcome to The Suggestions Gauntlet. The idea is to increase comments and voting on your hero, and in turn comment and vote on others! If you have input on this idea you would like to add, please do so here. (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?p=428801#post428801)

How it works,

1. To put your suggestion in the Gauntlet, you must comment on 5 SUGGESTIONS ALREADY IN THE GAUNTLET.

1.5 You may reserve your spot while you comment on your first suggestion.

2. At the end of each of your comments on a Gauntlet Suggestion, please place a G. To let the person know they recieved a comment from the Gauntlet.

3. Please list the suggestions on which you have commented on in your post in the Gauntlet thread.

4. After commenting on 5 suggestions you may post your own suggestion to be commented on.

5. After your suggestion/s receive a total of 5 votes, (count the red G's) please delete the post. (You only get 5 votes no matter how much you have listed)

6. You may then start over, at the back of the line.

8. Please try and comment on heroes you haven't already voted on. The idea is to spread the love!

Home.... And just some thoughts.

you should probably sticky this in all hero and item forums to give this puppy exposure. Also, there should be a dedicated moderator *cough* *buggles* *cough* that can verify that people aren't abusing, should this make it big. However, right now in the sandbox, it is very easily missed. One last thing. Since there is no ordering per say, should there ever be a moderator, I think it would be nice if you got people emailed a list of items/heroes to review. Otherwise, I can see people being skipped over just because of positioning or even just cause of the hero name.

Anyways, I will start in a bit, just getting my list ready.

Am I reading this wrong? I only see 3 things which need to be reviewed? Is that right? Well, I will do these first but I am doing:

Vagrant, Thrash and Gash, and Celeste. Some of the others, like nanite hero, I had already reviewed and voted on so I couldn't use them. Dam... I should just put the G there ;)


PS, I think you should go by user instead of hero. For instance, if I listed all the heroes I want reviewed, and then get 5 votes among them, I would still get my 5 votes. And, it will make it easier to get 5 votes since I won't need 5 new people. Makes better use of our time. Anyways, those are just my thoughts.

Hey Moderator,

Is there a way to make this send out automatic emails (notifications) to tell them a player from here has reviewed their thread?

I think the best way to get this to work would be to have like a Gauntlet section in the user interface. (I would do it if I could :D.)

Also this thread seems to be quite dead. There are a couple of ways to make it better and have more users that I have thought of:


As well as putting a read G after your posts also put a link to The Gauntlet (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?p=1417463) thread like that so that we get more visitors.
Only remove peoples heroes from the thread after 7 or 10 comments otherwise there will always be the same amount of heroes in the thread and it becomes very hard to get yours on there.
Make a thread in the general forums once this one has been tidied up. You might need a mod to do that, I would be happy to become one so that I could keep The Gauntlet up and running as I think its a great idea.
