View Full Version : [Gameplay] Personal observer and its coaching purpose.

With the increased number of new players in this (very) steep learning curve, I propose here a solution, or maybe a part of the solution, for new player coaching.

Every player could have 1 (or more depending on the servers capabilities) personal observer, that must be invited by the player. For fair-play needs, this observer would be "bound" to the player :

by a "lock on player" or;
by a non-removable fog of war on the apprentice team (in that case the observer would be more "bound to the team");

Moreover, the VoIP experience could be enhanced so that the coach could talk to his apprentice only.

I think that could help new players that have higher-level friends learn the game much faster, with their advices.

Playing with lower level friends is just not the best way, in my opinion, to help them learn: you have to focus on your gameplay if you want to win it, as they are not as reliable as any of your teammates.

Feel free to discuss and comment my proposal, I can't wait to see what you have to say.

Thank you for making it this far. :pyro:

I'm afraid i don't rly understand completly, but for new players... there is a tutorial... i haven't seen it since openbeta tho... but it looked pretty okey... so those people who don't understand after that... they should just srsly quit plying games...

and you don't rly need to play with friends to become pro... if u totally suck... you have ur psr low... u play with low psr players who suck... then u get better, and better... cuz u learn... and then ur psr goes higher... u play with better players... u get better... the better opponents, hte better u learn ur and others misttakes... so u learn... and if you didn't get good enough... u psr get's low... u get to play with the bad ones again... then u didn't learn enough for those players... so then u learn by these bad players.. more and when u learned all... u will get better... and if u don't... u dont' wna get better... cuz ur not trying hard enough... so u got to play with players in ur rate... and then try abit hard, and abit harder... step after step... but u can't play with suckers... cuz then u can't learn a ****...

idk how much u understand there... i'm sorry i'm a very bad explainer...

I see your point, but in fact, new players that have higher skilled friends want to play with them.

I understand that the best way to learn the game is playing it, but if you can have a higher player's point of view on your gameplay, it can improve your skill level in ways a tutorial can't.

HoN is a very complex and strategic game, which requires the player to make clutch decisions at key moments, not always easy when you are new to the game.

Moreover, there are things that needs a lot of practice to understand or are hard to explain quickly (while you are playing too):

Positioning (really a big problem)
Warding
Rune control
Proper laning and lane control
Ganking
Farming
Drafting

Furthermore, the concept could be extended on the opposite way: a lower buddy or player looks you play.

I appreciated your answer, thank you for taking time to post.
Have a good day. :accu:
