The user Sayuri (Merlini's ex-gf) is holding a HoN focus group in the Dota 2 beta. But you can't get in without a voucher from the pro community. Unless you are well-recognized or suck the right dicks, you won't get in until invite-only closed beta. Your biggest other chance as an American is through NAdota forums if you are a long-time poster and known within that group. But Bulba-Saur talked **** to Eul (yes, that Eul) and now those guys aren't getting new keys. So there you go, how you could have gotten a Beta key had you asked earlier. That is what you asked right?

There are a lot of Brazillians in the Beta though, at least 4-5 every game, that are apparently really bad at this game. I don't even want to bother if that's the case. I want to be helpful to the community but you can't test things the right way if you can't communicate properly with the players around you.

I've been around with HoN/DotA for a long time. I haven't been active with HoN/DotA recently because of personal reasons. But my background with both of the games are good. I'm friends with a lot of the pro players and they can vouch for me. Such as bkid, AMXZaku, Cyrus, and a lot more. I really want to play DotA 2 and experience the new level of DotA. Please :temp:

First let me say that there is more than enough sapce for both games but I fear that DOTA2 will probable pull more players away from HON, here's why?

1. The game is not balanced: end of the day in DOTA one can choose more or less any intel hero and have a chance of carrying in a game but that just does not work in HON. Many HON games are decided purely on choices unlike DOTA.

2. Failure to bring in classic heros.
these heros are what made HON fun and they are just not in HON and I know that S2 wanted to create something unique but they should have opted for uniquness after they had made the classic heros:
Balaran; meepo; cetaur warchief; Panda; storm panda; alchemist; Huskar; dragon knight; lucifer; pit lord; sk; magnataur; phantom lancer; templar assassin; ursa; clinkz, broodmother; pa; dark seer; twin headed dragon; ezalor; enchantress
why are these heros still missing? these guys made the game fun.

3. server issues.

4. alternate avatars that make the hero look totally different and makes it harder to have a "classic" standard balanced game.

thoughts from other guys would be appreciated.

I started playing DotA like 7/8 years ago, back when the game was 5.64. And ever since it's been a non stop gameplay for me. You are still judging without trying the game urself. The screenshot most likely doesnt do the game justice. From what iv heard, the game looks 10X better than the screenshots posted. Most HoN players are old Dota players so, everyone is going to migrate to Dota 2 on release trust me. S2 can't get their **** together and they know that Dota 2 is comming and there is no point of trying to fix this **** game.

It's not even that HoN is a bad game or anything, but S2 has done a HORRIBLE job at providing support for this game.
I have seen TONS of players having K2 exceptions after they download the patch and it starts to install. I've looked on 20+ pages on how to fix this and sent in tickets and nothing is relevant to my problem and the tickets were never replied to. I haven't been able to play HoN for almost 2 months probably because of it.
At least I know Valve won't screw up as much and if they do make a mistake it'll be fixed SHORTLY.
