B&W image (of the archer dude) was from a game poster I think. I don't have that link anymore.
Clouds, grainy effects, burning red eyes, red bow, watercolour splashes, colouring was done by me.

Mm, thanks for the comments. I'd link back to my dA but it is currently too messy and I'm cleaning it up now. :p

Very nice Desi, I love the choice of font and the background.

Unfortunately the edges of the render are kinda fuzzy and not well-blended, but I know this is cause you were given a white background image (I thinks) and so you probably didn't have a massive amount to work with :)

Nah, it was most likely I got lazy and either didn't blend it well enough, or sharpened it too much. :P
I don't give myself slack just because I don't have a stock/background to work with.

I meant to throw some shadows to the back of Lelouch though, so he'd stick out a bit more. Hence I didn't want to blend him into the tag completely.

That wasn't what I meant :P Just I figured you've either done one of three things, magically-erased the background which was white, used pen tool or something else to cut it out, or shaped the background around the render and erased over the render to get a background image.

And yeah, I'm kicking myself over Wrecking's sig because if you check it out (I didn't notice at the time cause I did it in about half an hour really late) I massively over-sharpened it T_T his face looks retarded.

I'm half inclined to fix it but he seems to really like it so meh ;/

Yup, The background was already rendered, since it was a uniform colour. I just had to cut the chair out with pentool. It might look overfuzzied either from me oversharpening it a wee too much, or due to the distort effect as I was going for the aged look. Kinda like how you see dust particles floating around in the sunlight in an old room.

For Wrecking's sig request it definitely IS oversharpened. :P
Just didn't want to mention it. Personally, I'm not a fan of c4d whoring and some of the effects look overdone especially on his face. :/

As long as the requester is happy with the outcome, I pretty much don't bother to comment. Unless you posted it in your portfolio or another critique thread, then I'll say a few words. If I gave critique on every request entry, pretty soon I'll be the only one left doing them. xd
Besides, everyone has a different style. ;)

I don't normally C4D whore either, I use smudging and generally create my own effects. However it was late at night and I didn't really feel like trying too hard but knew I could make an okay outcome :P

Unfortunately I was tired and it was dark and around those times it's hard to notice a massive oversharpen. I might even try to fix it ;/ It definitely ruins my image ;P

Indeed. 'Tis been fixed to the best I can really do without editting the entire sig, as I used Apply Image a few times in this one. Normally I can get by without using Apply Image but in this particular case I used it quite a bit and created the effects there ;/

Lighting and depth of that tag is spot on. I'm digging the focal point of view as well, it makes you look up into the sky together with the boy.

Just one small issue with your newest sig :D

The lighting is good, but it shines on the front of the silhouette when it should only shine behind him.

It probably looks better as it is, but just pointing out your lack of knowledge of how light works :P

I grew up and stopped using small canvases. ;p
Canvas size is a personal choice I guess. Some people like it small as they can concentrate better on the focals and effects in the tag. Some people like it big as they are adequate on manipulating larges canvases without the fear of creating dead space.

Well, I don't quite follow a start-end concept regarding focal points. I try to keep a transition of focal points that I want the eye to follow along to, having a main focal to branch out from. I'm not perfect so I guess I'll keep working on it. Thanks. :)

Like in my current tag, Lady Death: I keep most of the effects on the main focal, which is her eyes/face. This is followed by the rest of her body (including the skull), then the view pans out towards the back to the setting clouds.

Desirable, size doesn't have to matter but I'm just saying a signature is classified to be small, discrete and to show off little sneak peaks of your work. If you're looking for anything larger you should use them as compilations not signatures.
A forum sig has no specified canvas size. Plus this is a sneak peak of my work. I can assure you what I use is currently waay smaller than my actual Large Pieces/Walls.

I'll switch around with canvas sizes when I feel like it though, don't worry. ;)

Canvas size is up to the artist and mine falls well within regulations.
If you head to serious gfx sites, users have 3 or more tags as their signatures on the forum.

If you find it too distracting, disable forum signatures in your Settings tab under User CP.

Good flow, great lighting, effects are ok, font could have gone better " the maidens of war one " background is kinda dull and random especially on the sides, render is kinda confusing, you could have played with some more color, overall a good job but you could have worked it more and add some details. 8.2.

The somehow missing right arm is weird and the partially smudged(?) left arm is quite weird too.

Ok so I was wrong, I see the lighting should be coming from the left (right hand side from renders perspective), but that's still different from where you've put the source, which is behind. That's what it looks like to me anyway.

Well, it is not really behind. That's part of his arm too. :/
As said, the depth is a bit off because I should have blended the cut-out a bit more at the bottom, making it look further in the foreground. I'll correct it later on perhaps.

Yeah as I said, it looks behind to me. I can see now how it's part of his arm, but my first impression was that the light was in the distance and his arm was missing :p
This is probably because it looks like it's behind whatever that thing is in the background (looks like a ship with a mast).

The problem is focal.
Focal is first thing that attracts you when you see signature.
Focal should be face,but I'm struggling between text and face.
But there isn't really better place to put text,so it's great sig.

Yes, the artwork was by Reiq, though I did not get it from DevArt.
Some of very early work were not really "forum sigs" tbh. More like I just slap on a different colour on some pretty picture I found. :/
