Quite often when i have already read a thread that says it has a new post, then i do, and go back to the subscribed threads page, it will say that there is a new post, when there has been absolutely no change from when i read it.

i don't know if the way a subscribed thread recognizes that you read it only does so with a limited medium (hypothetical example - if you middle click, it doesn't recognize and still says you haven't read it)

more often than not it seems to happen after a period after i have been view new threads.

This seems really glitchy, and something that should definitely be fixed.

If you are using the back button after reading a thread instead of returning to the thread index of that forum, you'll likely encounter a limitation of how vbulletin is tracking 'read' items with cookies.

i see, so it was the back button. most other forums don't have this problem, could it be fixed?

the strange thing is, when i do use the back button it my bolded thread turns to regular text (recognizes that it has been read)

The 'issue' is something that I've explored alternative options for but at the moment, the alternatives are worse (noticeably heavier server load, etc).

okay cool.

just curious. this forum's layout/format is really similar to playdota's "forum engine" (if it is that) again, this is the first forum that i've seen do this.

anyways i'm sure you guys will do whats good. thx =]
