Does your armour affect Barbed Armour's effect?
For example, say you had 99% physical damage reduction. A hero had a physical attack that dealt 100 damage.
Would the attacking hero be damaged for 100(minus his armour)?
Or would he be damaged for 1 damage?
I ask because the usefulness of this item for electrician late game.
I tried to test this in practice mode, but couldn't get any conclusive results.

Because he will get damage based on his damage output and not how much damage you really get.

Not true.
Barbed applies after armor.
Meaning to say, if you take lesser damage due to higher armor, you reflect lesser damage while under Barbed status.
Barbed still reflects true damage however, as already mentioned.

hm, this makes the item pretty worthless, doesn't it? if it returned 100% of dmg dealt instead of dmg received, it would actually be worthwhile. if this were changed, it would probably be more desirable to acquire on tanks who will probably already be rocking armor. then they might get this in order to provide some survivability vs. high dps carries (who also are going to have high armor anyway because of agility). kind of like shrunken head except for physical dmg.

My one surprise about barbed armor, in case anyone else hasn't noticed, is it's ability to work on towers. If you run up and tank a tower and pop the armor the tower shoots itself while you hit it, and it goes down ridiculously easily. (side note)

What heros do you guys get Barbed on? I've only tried it on Axe.

It can be a surprisingly useful item against aoe teams. Its a situational item, you either get it when a couple member of your team get it versus an aoe team, or against a enemy lineup filled with heros that typically use lifesteal.
Axe(Legionaire) works great with it. Accursed, Panda, electrician, zephyr do fine with it too.

I'd have to argue that he's actually one of the worst heroes, since the only time the enemy team will be hitting you is when you taunt them, and you have added armor during that time, so less damage done to you > less damage done to them.
I like to get it on low armor heroes who tend to get focused down by the enemy carry. It's pretty situational for me though, and I only tend to get it if I'm actually being focused and taken down quick.
I like getting it on Accursed with a berzerk mask. Use shield, run in to whole enemy team, pop mask and barbed, let them beat you until they realize that their dmg is killing themselves and hopefully they healed you a bit too after your ult. have your team clean up.

The funniest things about BA right now:
Number One: It works on towers.
Number Two: Since it's true damage, it can damage invulnerable targets.
Figure out what that means. Also, that'll be getting patched out soon :D

Also a side note that barbed returns damage even when their hits heal you during your ulti.

The flip side to this is that some people think barbed armor is NOT good for tanks. The reason for this is that most tanks want the opponent targeting them in a team fight. If you pop your barbed armor out (and believe me it's noticeable because it shows huge spikes on you) the enemy (if smart) will not target you during this period...which means that your squishier teammates might get targeted instead. Your opponent really shouldn't be targeting the tanks in the first place.

I played against a reasonably intelligent Nymphora who bought BA.
I was playing night hound and almost one-shotted myself when I Pounced her at 50% hp. Talk about good timing.

Barbed armor is more useful on squishier heroes, especially against high dps enemies (i.e Madman, Scout).
Also, Barbed Armor works wonders against Zeph's tornados.
If you're tanky enough, you can cast Barbed under Blood Hunter's ultimate and run. Watch Blood Hunter bleed himself to death. :p

One hero I found it quite interesting on was kraken, I got BA after I got my portal key. And I would just pop it after my ulti. I found a lot of people who get hit with krakens ulti panic and generally use aoe's or target the biggest thing they can click on (generally kraken).
This applies more for pubs though..... I don't know too much use for this... although maybe on pestilence after popping your sprint??? I'd prefer a shrunken head normally over BA on virtually any hero.
