I played a few games now in the jungle as start, but it just plainly sucks. I did a really good jungle with legionnaire (axe), starting out with clearing 1 camp, stacking another before the first minute ends, before minute 5 I cleared our entire jungle a few times already, which I consider quite alot. And then the moment of truth: I was level 5 and everyone else level 7 - 9.
My point being, jungling should provide some more xp. Try it. The only time I did a successful jungle was when I went to the sidelane every now and then and we scored a double kill.

Jungling from start is as much about giving your team 2xSolo Lane advantage as it is you keeping up average levels. Being 5 when the (enemy?) average evels are 6/7 is just of the boil though :( Dropping into lane for a gank everynow and then is included in Jungling last time I checked :)
Sounds like it just needs a little tweak and maybe some of the neutrals need there dmg nerfed or there xp increased slightly?

i'd usually start jungling at lvl 2 or 3, not 1. Then you can clear it out faster and with less hp-loss. occasional ganks completely turn the tide then leaving you and your teammates an xp advantage (and money too).
though i do believe the hon neutrals are a bit harder than the dota neutrals.

i believe the neutral creeps should mimic dota creeps in the sense that they dont use active abilities unless there are 3+ enemy units present, and give marginally more exp.
Also Id like the creeps to attack them if they come close like in dota.
I did a perfect pull and the melee creeps just ran past. The ranged creep attacked then ran up to join the melee's. I was like WTF fail =/

Yeah, you can still creep pull, but HoN is very unforgiving with the timing (considering you need to have the creeps go RIGHT NEXT to one of your melee creeps). Also, Chain creep pulling, while doable, is even more insanely difficult.
I haven't tested it, but supposedly if a creep attacks you it can aggro your creeps if they are within assist range (they do this in dota, but I haven't confirmed yet in HoN).

I have also noticed that neutral creeps are noticeably more difficult than they were before.
They are in need of some tweaking

so are neut creep exps actually lower than the dota ones? cuz even in EM i manage to break even with neuts, in normal mode generally do much better XP (dota wise) never tried HoN neuting as i heard its terribad DX
