Welcome to the crystalline creature coal. His visuals would be of a chunky, transparent, man-like figure but cut like a diamond.

Story:
Tired of being cacooned inside rock and solidified lava for many years, Coal got his break when miners opened up the earth in search for minerals. Stone by stone, Coal could feel the earth loosening around him until sunlight seeped through him; that was the moment he realised he was no longer the coal substance he once was. Forever grateful to the human miners, he protects them with the strength of a diamond.

Crystal Cacoon:
Coal sprouts crystal spikes around a foe, rendering it trapped and helpless, an ally is protected if cast on.
Immobilizes target enemy but does not silence them. If cast on an ally, the ally will be invulnerable for that period of time as well as silenced and immobilized.
Manacost: 80/100/120/140
Cooldown: 20sec
1. Immobilized for 2.5s. Range 400
2. Immobilized for 3s. Range 500
3. Immobilized for 4.5s. Range 600
4. Immobilized for 5s. Range 700

Tunneling Strike:
Coal burrows underground where he feels at home. He tunnels at great speed towards the target location, then bursting out of the earth along with his mineral friends.
Stuns and damages enemies in a radius around self.
Manacost: 90/100/110/120
Cooldown: 15sec
1. 75 damage. Range 600
2. 125 damage. Range 700
3. 175 damage. Range 800
4. 230 damage. Range 900

Flawless:
Coal becomes more attuned to the strength of his mineral compounds and subsequently becomes capable of absorbing a portion of damage and converting it into mana..
With each level, decreases the amount of damage taken, and converts the damage taken into mana.
1. -4%
2. -7%
3. -10%
4. -13%

Homing Crystal:
Coal releases a giant crystal which moves at tremendous speed and allows control of the crystal until detonation.
Allows control of a remote crystal ´mine´ with increased movement speed and controlled detonation. Lasts for 20s and requires channeling.
Manacost: 150/200/250
1. 400 damage. Movement speed 400. Radius 300
2. 500 damage. Movement speed 470. Radius 400
3. 600 damage. Movement speed 540. Radius 550

Skill 1: Strong disable or protect skill BUT the duration is to long in my opinion. 6 seconds ... That is a very long time in HoN to get your mates nearby to finish this one caught in it or it's to long for a short protect cause you can't help in a battle for 6 seconds and maybe still sit there with all enemys around waiting for the spell to end ;)

Skill 2: just Burrow Strike from the Sand King - nothing special but of course a good init spell BUT do we really need more blinkers?

Skill 3: Passive? This would fit a tank but call hi DPS ... missing scaling DPS spell :p

Ultimate: So this is like a controllable Missle? ^^ That's the best skill he currently has.

Doesn't sound too bad. don't quite understand how his ult works though. maybe reword 1st spell a little, like guy above me said. 6 seconds is way too long.

is it me or is is passive kinda underpowered?
13% reduction for all damage is essentially equal to ~2.5 physical and magical armor...
It's like armadon's passive, but (no offense) suckier.
adding an extra unique touch to it might make it better
for example,

So like, for every point of damage that is absorbed by the passive, he gains back the same amount of mana or something...
Just an idea

edit: The rest of the skills are ok, but crystal cocoon might be just a bit OP, I mean, while it does not silence or disarm, it disables for longer than either polywog's disables or keeper of forests ulti

An alright Hero. I like the first ability, the protection on allies sounds useful.
I would personally give it two different durations though. On enemies say 4 seconds max. And on allies for 6 seconds max.

Second ability is basically just Magmus' lava surge. Just with a longer range, and smaller damage output. It suits the character, although not very original.

The third sounds good. A passive defense + mana gain sounds fair.

The ultimate sounds interesting. So basically it is a controlled attack? Kind of like Tormented Soul, but way more powerful and controllable? Perhaps explain it a bit more, sounds a little vague.
