Can anyone list some of those words and what they mean?

Proc is a univeral term for when an ability on a weapon applies to a target

e.g. 5% chance to proc slow on an enemy would give you a 5% chance to make that enemy slow.

From what I gather (As a HoN only player)

mis/mia/ss/miss = Missing In action/missing
bd = Backdoor, when a player attacks a tower without creep waves
jungle = Forest/Jungle where neutral creeps are
b = back
mid/top/bot = The lanes
shop= going to shop
push = Pushing a lane
gank <lane> = Come to gank this land

Pings usually mean care, a.k.a take care of people missing.

Actually proc is short for "Programmed Rancom Occurence", simply meaning that anything that happened by randomness can be called a proc, e.g.: Evasion, Item procs, Blacksmith's Chaotic flames (a.k.a. multicast)etc...

Proc is just your chance to apply something. So if you have 30% evasion..you have a 30% chance to proc an evade.

If you have a 20% chance to crit..you have a 20% chance to proc a crit.

here's something people need to learn

AP = all pick heroes
SD = single draft mode
RD = Random Draft mode
EM = easy mode

lets do some math

APEM = all pick easy mode
SDEM = single draft easy mode
RDEM = random draft easy mode

im tired of seeing games labeled one thing when they are actually something different :)

Um guys you'r all wrong. Its called a "programmed" random occurence for a reason. It refers to skills that are semi-random. Their chance to activate is usually random, but they have another factor that limits how often they can activate. Refers to skills like Chrono's bash and wildsoul's bears entangle. The term comes from WoW

An evasion that is a flat 30% is not a proc, its just called a chance. But some people may not know this so they just like to call everything procs. Like the people in this thread.

Oh god, that reminds me of when I tried to tell someone how to set up a game in practice mode so he could play heroes. He kept confusing all the modes somehow in ways I couldn't even understand...I think I told him to do Normal & 'all heroes' n somehow he mixed that up with another mode...Nothing can be more annoying;

tl;dr: Read your mumbo jumbo & game mode abbreviations kids!

Do you Honestly think Proc comes from wow?

Oh, right- and WoW was the worlds first MMo! Right?

If you wonder what game-slangs or any other slangs mean, try Urbandictionary .(http://www.urbandictionary.com)

"OMG this new weapon procs like a mofu " (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mofu)

I tried to resist posting...I really did.

But... I just cant get over how bad you are.

And before you think I'm just some "WoW hater", I played WoW for 2 years and don't hate it at all.

That's been around forever. It's a quick way to announce that you are low mana so no healz.

If you have a 20% chance to crit..you have a 20% chance to proc a crit.

That sounds odd. A 20% chance is a 20% chance. A proc is when it happens.

Like "I didn't proc Whirling Blades at all while I was under attack of atleast 6 creeps!" - "LOLRNG".

Also, although I never have heard it used outside of gaming and many here claim it, I don't think it is limited to games.

The term comes from WoW.

I have to quote that as well. lol
