What should I do around level 10 when the laning phase starts to break down? If I stay in a lane I end up pushing it too far or being ganked, but if I just roam and try to gank I end up underlevelled and underfarmed. Either way, I tend to end up feeding.

What should I be doing from level 10 onwards? If it's relevant, the heroes I tend to play are Electrician and Pollywog Priest.

Let's see. Once laning breaks down, it doesn't mean you can't stay in the lane and continue farming. Just respond quickly to any threat or gank call. You want to push the lanes as far as you can to take down the shrine/tree. Don't forget, the main aim of this AoS gameplay is to take down the base.

As Electrician, you should be ganking as much as possible, then participating in mass pushes as well as teamfights.

On the other hand, Polly can push, gank and fight in team battles pretty well. His wards ulti can be used in pushes to take towers, or in teamfights to hit as many enemies as possible. Just don't waste your ulti on ganks, unless the gank turns into a major teamfight.

So basically try to stay in lane but gank liberally?

1) Go where needed. TM in trouble? Tower needs deffing? TMs gathering for ganks? Enemy tower really low? Tell your team and go there.
2) If not immedietly needed anywhere or if it's simply too late/too far to get there go where you can farm exp gold without any obvious danger. A "safe" lane or neutral creep.

Never waste time. You should try to be pretty much constantly exping and farming gold. Time estimation and a "feel" for your mobility is something you learn the more you play. If you're pushing your lane too far then go and try to initiate a gank somewhere or kill some neutral creeps. Then go back to your lane.
Try to avoid running back and fourth between spots while acomplishing nothing. And always carry a Homecoming stone to quickly tp where needed. There's a common newbie mistake in believing that the 125g for tp isnt worth it when it actually can make you earn more money in the end not to mention being much more efficent and useful overall.

go with your mates, try to gank the opposing team if the opportunity arises. both of your heroes are heavy disablers so you're invaluable in ganks. keep map awareness up, don't push past river if dangerous heroes are missing.

A good rule of thumb is "don't push past the river if you're on your own".

Once you get the hang of watching the minimap as much as you're watching the main screen, you'll be able to work out where the enemy are roughly and how far you can push before you should hightail it back to safe ground.

Another general rule is stick with somebody. I sometimes just follow another hero around if I'm pubbing. I'm sure they hate being stalked, but it means if we happen to bump into an enemy, then 9 times out of 10 we'll decimate them.

Elec = 100% ganker. Find a friend and check their forest.
Pollywog = ganked as well as pusher. Find a friend to push a lane to the tower, drop wards and run. Doing this twice (sometimes even once) ensures a destroyed tower.

And yes, carry a TP. It's never the case that 3 lanes are pushed to a tower hence you can always farm A lane.

Go have a look at the warding guide, ward the river if they dont' have any neutralling heroes and ward their forest if they do. Talk to your team and coordinate ganks, always carry a TP and look at the minimap every once in a while.
