If i'm a s2 marketing executive, the first thing i notice is dota 2 will have a huge impact on the game's population. And i highly doubt valve will fail hard, since they have more resource, well at least they won't have fail servers like s2's.

My plan would be. "since no one is going to play hon anymore when dota 2 is out, we need to gain as much profit as possible"

1) first thing is, forget about upgrading the server, it's just wasting money. why waste money on upgrading server when no one gonna play this game anymore?
2) create a lot of premium gold coin stuff in store to make people buy coins and profit as much as possible before dota 2 come out.
3) dont' waste time on balancing heroes like sil, well who cares? no one is going to play this game anyways. Create some imba hero so more people will enjoy this game gogogogogog.

but yeah i think DOTA 2 is forcing them to slack alot, i think they secretly know its going to kill hon (if not deal a large blow) and thus decide that they should just Milk HoN for what its worth before it dies

I'd attempt to get some buzz going about a new game that S2 is coming out with, while people are still playing one of them. Pick an underrepresented genre and develop something like that - free advertising for anybody that likes S2 before they all jump ship.

Uuh, that's what I was thinking as I started playing HoN (in March). Don't say the truth man...S2 doesn't like it.
