I am a noob to DOAT and HON, but I figure since this game is headed towards a full comercial release noobs are welcom.
So, I need help figuring out what people mean with some of the terms.
I have figured out gank and laning, but there are many others that I cannot figure out.
Now of course I will learn them over time with help in game, but how in the world can I use the guides on this forum that are full of terms that are not known to me and are not explained in the guides?
I'd like to know the origin of 'carry'. From seeing it used in context I think it means 'hero that is going to be a powerhouse late-game'. Is that correct?
But is it carry as in 'this guy will carry the team'? Or 'when this guy carries powerful items he benefits from them more than others'? Or something else?

carry as in 'this guy will carry the team'?
It's this. As in, "you sure sucked that up friend, but I carried your ass", or "don't worry, I got this, I'm going to carry us... I just need 5 more minutes"
Generally, agi heroes and more specifically those with a natural damage skill are considered "carry heroes"... agility heroes get attack speed and damage from agility, and attack damage scales late game, while spell damage does not as much.
Still, even a support hero can be said to carry, if they actually dominate the enemy team + win (while their teammates generally fail).

And supports are generally int heros, casters who do various things to support the team and the carry.
Such as, warding, buying items that heal or disable the enemy, and ganking/babysitting.
