View Full Version : Terrible, terrible teammates

From 1597 MMR I dropped to 1493 MMR due to horrid SMM teammates. My KD ratio is abit screwed up now, but I won't give up just yet.
So, one match (me being Behemoth), I PK'd inside the enemy team, Shockwave, Fissure, Enrage. I initiated the fight, with my teammates behind. But surprise! By the time I casted Enrage all of my teammates were already fountain hugging and spamming concede. I ruined a 5-0 streak due to their stupidity.
So, I lost about 100 MMR due to such horrid teammates, is any possible way of reaching 1600 MMR+ by solo queuing? Or should I just pick a hero I know best and stomp my way out?

Yes it is possible. I play with my friends and usually they **** around when we all play or are just bad in general. So I just left this account to SMM only and got myself to 1700 today

You shouldn't probably solo play, because the people you get in your team won't co-operate or communicate well, ending the enemy team having 20 kills while your team got 4.

It has been a horrible weekend man, I went from 1642 down to 1500 because of it, didn't matter what I played either.
I chalk it up to being new hero weekend, where all the casuals come out of the woodwork. I hate playing on hero weekends because its usually just people that have no ****ing idea and just want to play the new hero and if they dont get it they mess around or random and screw everyone up.

Yes, it is possile to solo yourself to 1600+. I found it to be easiest with solo mid semicarries / gangers, like bubbles, pebbles, hag, aluna, bombardier, chipper etc.

Hitting 1600 solo is not a problem.
Sunday afternoon playing tends to be the worst in my experience. The games are just full of baddies, it is not just that they are on your team, it is that they are on the other team too.
It just leads to a bunch of games that are usually over by 10mins, because one lane does so badly.
It is not even fun when it happens on the other team. Never get a close game on a Sunday...... always baddies.

Then they blame others for their failure.
I totally understand where you're coming from. It's not so much those who visit the forums, is more of those who visit Honcast. They see an Aluna, Vindi, and even Magmus, and they want to replicate... not knowing that those are heroes that can actually get WARDS AND A COURIER... Yes, even magmus.
I'm past the point of raging at them. If they want to pick vindi and not get courier, I'll just simple switch to one of the sidelanes and let someone else lose mid.

Classic example of having the game slip right out of your hands. Just watch as they go out alone thinking they're going to 1v5 them and win. They just completely throw a perfectly won game away, even when I was TELLING THEM to stay away, and to stay together.
Pubs don't listen. Like my friend said: Do your thing, and hope for the best.

Only solo mm games, with all modes thumbs upped. Clearly impossible to win games solo at 1500ish.

i pretty much only solo q'd in mm and im up to 1704 now. so yes it's definitely possible. as far as k/d, mines probably around 0.8 or 0.9 but i do what i can. have over a 50% win rate. just keep it at hope for good teammates and work with em. or find a friend and get up to 1550-1600 and if ur good you'll be able to maintain that as with each loss you lose only about 5-10
seriously, solo mmr = impossible... you get with a team of randoms and they, feed like 10 deaths before the 15 min mark and its ridiculous.. its not even fun if you have 4 friends to constantly play with.
MMR system needs to be fixed.. or if a person has a brand new account force them to play a certain amount of PSR games maybe like 50 games before they just click the match making button. Its like i'm trapped in the low MMR bracket, every game, every team is bad. Even if your on the winning team its one sided, its not even fun anymore. What the **** is going on with the HoN community, never use to be like this until now.

First way to improve is don't blame your teammates. You can't control them, but you can control what you do.

I'm at 1650, completely solo.
If you are better than your PSR, you will get there, stop blaming your PSR on team mates. You're complaining about a short term loss, PSR is a long term indicator.

I was told once while complaining about bad teammates that "if you drop below 1500 it's your own fault," and honestly I have to agree with that statement. It's easy as hell to keep yourself in the mid 1500s just solo pool. Hell I almost hit 1700 at one point doing solo all random.
The point is that you shouldn't put all the blame on your team and should ask yourself what it is you could've done better in the games you've lost.

the last days i have been playing i have gone down from 1500 ish to like 1100 ish in 2 weeks time, the problem is that if you pick an Init and do as you are supposed to you get no backup as in the original post, i say pick heroes that fit your team but still be able to get a lot of kills cause if you get the kills in the game others will follow to try to KS but then you get a little bit of Teamwork and that is better than none

After 1700 psr Matchmaking became fu..ing random sh... . Almost in every team there are retarded persons ( for example guy who getting devourer and going jungle after lvl 5 till the end of game ). Team which have less retarded guys usually wins, and it is very hard to win the game by yourself.
Best what you can do is to pick strong ganker for side lane or mid like gauntlet, devourer etc. Carry is kinda sucks choice imo because you probably will have zero support from team or team wont be able not to feed while you are farming. Support may be good if you know that your team carry isnt braindead and your supporting efforts wont be in vain.
Soz for my grammar.

I am at 1650 MMR only solo and I am not that great.
My advice, at very low levels, play mid.

A) stop worrying about your PSR, else you will only lose it more. I notice that when I don't care about winning or losing PSR and just play, things tend to work out better and I take more risk that generally work in my favor.
B) As for horrid teammates. That's just something you have to get used to. It actually made me a better player, to where now I take on 2 roles and keep both sides warded, even as the carry. Yeah it hurts me long run, but at least the team gets a little more awareness due to my sacrifice. When I play with a bunch of idiots, I just don't count on them for anything, and my only job is to farm while trying to prevent them from dying too much so we can have a chance. And if all else fails... push, push, and push til you can't push anymore. I'll kamikaze to take a tower any day.

i am at 1800+ mmr. and i pretty much did it via solo (whenever i que with friends we more often than not lose, i have no idea why). so it is entirely possible to solo your mmr up.
take ProtoProtoss' advice. very good advice for this case.
if you are conscious of your psr/stats, it will only be a problem. it adds unnecessary information processing to what you are doing. even remembering that simple +5/-5 will affect your thought process since it means you have a chance to lose something. don't play to get good stats, play to better yourself. stats don't mean squat in the long run (a lot of the pro players don't have that epicly high kdr or really really high psr).
