I wasn't going to chime in until another player asked for an update and some jacka** mod shut the thread down with a snippy answer. Dude paid 30 bucks. S2 owes him an answer. They don't owe refunds, free coins, double xp or whatever but they do owe players prompt answers.

At over 200K accounts sold 30 bucks a pop, S2 has made 6 million in profits (not including money spent on coins, etc.) it's time for them to start acting like a real company and not some frat house poker game that goes on and off with their whims. God forbid it's 5am to 8am in the morning. Real companies have staff on duty 24/7. S2 has made a friggin mockery of restoring service or keeping service up in the last several weeks. Instead of hiring some girl that plays the game for her looks and voice, let's hire someone who can actually bring a useful trait to the team -- keeping the game online.

S2 has made a lot of money off this game. God forbid it's time to start earning it.

You should really look up what the word "profit" means. I'm sure the production of HoN has cost no money!

His point is that they have made 6 million.... there is no way that the development of the game has cost near that..... they have made tons of money...

At this point I'm beginning to question this part. I'm totally an S2 supporter, and I've gotten my money's worth out of HoN. But if there is someone who has bought this game in the past three months, I think asking for their money back is completely reasonable.

You never pay for a game, ever. You pay to license a copy of a game. An implied part of this license, even if it says otherwise in the legalese, is that you will be able to play said game. Over the past three months S2 has completely and utterly failed to offer that ability to license holders. Period.

Money is money, no matter what hardships S2 is going through from a technical perspective, if someone paid a company for something that the company is completely incapable of providing, then the person should be able to get their money back.

I'm not claiming I'm going to do anything, I'm not. And honestly I don't really want it to happen, but I would not be surprised to see this turn into a legal issue soon if S2 is, in fact, refusing refunds.

They haven't made 6 million. Production, upkeep, wages, promotion of the game has cost a **** load. This isn't about guessing how much they make.

It's also easy for people to say "get better security, keep servers up"; it isn't that easy. You can bet that S2 are doing every thing they can to get their servers up, as they are losing a lot of money. Complaining about it wont get it done faster.

However, I agree with the point that S2 could have handle the PR better, and I share your frustration.

SO yeah, PR could have been improved, and it is a valid complaint. Complaining to get the servers up is pointless, S2 care WAY more about it than you do.

How much money S2 has or has not made is not the point of this thread at all, stop fighting about it.

The topic of the thread is their complete inability to reliably provide a service that they are happy to charge people for.

I feel your frustration OP.

I just posted my own thread in General Discussion:
http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=272809^

It almost instantly got moved to "non-constructive complaints" forum.

I spent +$120 on game, and this is the thanks i get. I never really expected to leave HoN for Dota2, but this is it. I can't take the retarded support anymore. The HoN epmployees are at the same level of retardedness as 90% of the HoN players.

1. They clearly understand that everyone is frustrated.

2. Maliken just logged on, he probably immediately called his entire staff yelling over the phone that HoN is down again, probably in tears, perhaps just frustration or anger.

3. I think they'll solve the issues within the hour now and extend the coin weekend by an additional 24hours at least.

Have faith.
