View Full Version : Close your own threads

Simple suggestion: Grant forum members the option to close threads they opened, as it is currently practiced in many communities.

That not only relieves moderators and prevents "close pls" spam, it also thwarts ongoing trolling long after the OP stated his question as "answered" (which I daresay is often the case).

The reason this won't be implemented is because normal users would also be able to open their own threads, regardless of who closed them.

And those two parameters can't be separated? =/

What happens when the thread opener wants to close the thread, but a great discussion is going on between all the other people responding to the thread?

This is why it should be left up to the moderators... who's job entails them to only close threads which NEED closing (and who I would hope already have moderating experience).

It's the good right off any OP to decide whether he wants to enable or stop a discussion, he started.
