I've taken a hiatus on this map for quite some time, and do not expect to continue working on it, at least for a while until I sort out my priorities.

Bombadiers! is a skill-shot map inspired by the map's namesake: Bombadier. Fight to eliminate your opponents on a rotation of dazzling and strategic arenas using high-tech weaponry and gadgets!

Note that this map is a WIP (Work-in-progress), as such it may hold numerous bugs and balancing issues.

GAME MODES

Deathmatch: Eliminate all Bombers in an all-out melee. (Coming soon!)
Team Deathmatch: Destroy the opposing team.
Demolition: Attackers destroy the supply depots, while defenders must protect them. (Coming soon!)
Domination: Capture points to generate resources for your team! (Coming soon!)
Capture the Flag: Capture the opposing team's flag to generate points. (Coming soon!)
Last man standing: Capture the single flag to generate points for yourself! (Coming soon!)
Divided we stand: Capture the single flag to generate points for your team! (Coming soon!)
Shrink: Players with less points gain movement speed boosts, player with highest score is doubled in size. (Coming soon!)
Leech: Damaging opponents heals your Bomber. (Coming soon!)

Rumble in the Jungle: Bring the fires of war into the jungles of Newerth. This map has numerous sight-blockers and trees to juke behind while you line up that perfect kill shot.

Winter War: Don't get cold feet! Keep some extra explosive-padding around your toes as you rage all-out warfare upon any others foolish enough to enter the icy wastelands.

Weapons and Gadgets:

Each Bomber has access to a wide aresenal of dazzling gadgets and destructive weapons, killing your enemies awards you gold, which can be spent to purchase, upgrade and customize your tools of destruction!



The weapons are classified into 4 categories:




-Basic: The default weapon the Bomber enters the game with.

-Defensive: A defensive gadget that deals no damage, but protects the Bomber in some way.

-Offensive: Offensive weapons and tools that allow the Bomber extra firepower.

-Ultimates: Super-Powered tools that can only be purchased once the Bomber has all the other slots completed.

Note that a Bomber cannot have 2 of the same category gadgets.



Basic

Grenade:

The Bomber's default attack, throws a grenade at the target location, dealing damage upon impact.

Upgrades:

Basic:
-Grenade Launcher: Increases cast range.
-Blast Pack: Increases the damage dealt.

Modifiers:
-Earthshaker: Creates unpassable terrain temporarily after detonation.
-Napalm: Incinerates the ground, dealing damage per second.
-Shrapnel: Mini-stuns nearby enemies.
-Caltrop Charge: Slows enemies hit.
-Pressure Wave: Pushes you and enemies back.

Defensive

A makeshift Jetpack that launches the Bomber straight up, avoiding damage temporarily.

Upgrades:

Basic:
-Super Charged: Increases duration.
-Quick Recovery: Reduces the cooldown.

Modifiers:
-Turmoil: Incinerates nearby enemies when cast.
-Storm Seeker: Increases the Bomber's Movement Speed for a short duration.

Barrier:

An energy barrier engulfs the Bomber, absorbing all incoming damage.

Upgrades:

Basic:
-Titan Shield: Increases the damage absorbed.
-Sheathed in Light: Reduces Cooldown.
-Refraction: Increases duration.

Modifiers:
-Reactive Barrier: When detonated, increases the Bomber's Movement Speed temporarily.
-Reflective Barrier: Upon detonation, nearby enemies are damaged for the amount that was absorbed.

Cloaking Matrix:

State-of-the-art fibers that bend light around the Bomber, rendering him invisible temporarily.

Upgrades:

Basic:
-Advanced Fibers: Increases duration.
-Quick Recharge: Reduces cooldown.

Modifiers:
-Light Mesh: Increases movement speed while active.
-Phaser: Allows the Bomber to damage units he moves through.

A magnetic discharge that disables all nearby unidentified technology, effectively disarming enemies.

-Empowered Charge: Increases duration.

-Blackout: Immobilises enemies hit.
-Solar Panels: Heals the Bomber when activated.

Fires a rocket that travels over terrain and damages the first target it comes into contact with.

-Kerosene Injectors: Increases the Missile's speed.
-High Impact: Increases damage.
-Missile Salvo: Grants extra missile charges.

-Hellfire: Missile burns the target over time.

A hidden automatic weapon that fires at the closest enemy unit when activated.

Upgrades:

Basic:
-Expanded Magazines: Increases duration.
-Hollow-Point: Rounds deal additional damage.

Modifiers:
-Crippling Rounds: Rounds slow the target.
-Hellfire Rounds: Rounds mini-stun the target.
-Armor Piercing Full Metal Jacket (AP FMJ): Rounds reduce target's armour.

Land Mines:

Drops a mine, after a short delay, any unit that walks over it detonates it.

-Claymore: The mine incapacitates targets, damage caused cancels the effect.
-Infernal: Mines burn targets over time.

Magnetized coils fire a round at the furthest target, dealing large damage. Damage scales with distance.

-Fluxwave Round: Pushes target back.
-Impact Round: Stuns target.
-Hail: Hits an additional target.

Air Strike:

Calls down a hail of explosives along the target vertex.

-Carpet Bombing: Reduces cooldown.
-High Altitude: Increases damage per bomb.

-Rain of Fire: Burns the area.
-Destructive Terrain: Knocks targets down.
-Antrax Bombing: A virus kills enemies hit from within, dealing increasing damage over time.

Electric Field:

Creates a fencing of electrical energy, dealing damage to enemies inside.

-Experimental Mesh: Increases duration.
-Overload: Increases damage per second.

-Muting Field: Silences enemies who enter or exit.
-Cleansing Shock: Purges buffs on anyone that enters or exits.
-Static Surge: Slows enemies in the fencing.

Steam Turret:

Spawns an automated turret at the target point, which attacks the Bomber's enemies.

Upgrades:

Basic:
-Refined Parts: Reduces cooldown.
-Rapid Fire: Increases Turret's damage and attack speed.
-Hollow Point Rounds: Attack reduces armour.

Modifiers:
-Missile Upgrade: Grants a missile attack, which deals extra damage at a long range.
-Lazer Uprgrade: A lazer attack that deals a percentage of the target's HP.
-Razor Rounds: Attacks have a chance to deal bonus damage.

Upgrades

Each weapon the Bomber purchases has various upgrades that he may apply to them - these are split into two categories: Basic and Modifiers.

Basic: Simple and cheap upgrades that can be purchased multiple times and change static values of the spells. An example of this would be buffing the damage.

Modifiers: More expensive upgrades that change or add things to a spell. An example being a Damage Over Time or Slow effect. Note that a Bomber can only modify a spell once.

Current bugs:

-JetPack pushes the hero forward, regardless of the range I put on it.
-The barrier effect isn't that great.
-Grenade looks wonky because of the gravity levels.
-Buying the same item type twice costs the same gold, but grants no item.
-Shop has no skin (white).
-Death counter only works for legion, and is still kind of buggy.
-E.M.P effects look a tad strange at the moment. The silence is applied but the effect looks very off.
-E.M.P state effect needs to be changed (currently using Bubbles').


Things to complete before release:

-Remaining base scripts for spells. 75%.
-Base scripts for upgrades. 5%.
-Porting items to the shop. 40%.
-Completing arenas. 50%.
-Clean up scripting. 40%.
-Death counter. 35%.
-Arena rotation/selection. 0%.
-Map vision tests and pathing tests. 20%.


Things to expect:

-Custom icons.

-Custom UI.
-Free for all mode.
-Capture the flag mode.

-Demolition mode.
-Cover - Take less damage from spells and abilities while in cover!
-More arenas and weapons.
-Interactive environments; rivers, lava, rock falls are all possible.

- Kerosene Injectors - Since the rockets won't be tracking the target, the name seemed a little out of place, some quick research found that kerosene fuel is used in fighter jets, shuttles etc (:

<Chain Gun [Hollow-Point]>
- Armor Piercing Rounds - Whilst I love the idea of hollow-point shells, they're for maximised tissue damage, rather than armour, maybe have hollow-point for a damage increase or a slow?

<Rail Gun>
Just wondering how this spell is aimed? Is it just click, and it fires at closest target in proximity? Or is there a skill-shot component?

Also yeh Heat Seeking was kinda iffy at the time, was trying to think of something to replace it hahaha.

Will change the chain gun rounds as well :D

Edit: Railgun has been changed:

Deals damage to the furthest target, damage is based on how far they are (like valk's arrow).

Is the rail gun skillshot? Or does it target the furthest person away?

Edit: Regarding the maps displayed at present, I was thinking about the actual combat and possible complications with the current design. The first map I assume would have one team spawn on one side and another team on the other side but there would be very little incentive to cross the middle, in fear of getting annihilated, so maybe it's possible to add outside routes through trees to the quadrents? with more than 1 unit spacing so it isn't the clogged up foggy mess we see in real game juking, but another action-inducing path which will add some intensity to the game.

The original designs for the maps catered to 2v2 or 3v3 matchups, I will be completely redesigning them because I am working on different game modes now.
