Tiny User Interface
This modification reduces the ingame interface by removing unnecessary textures and panels
while compressing useful information into less space to increase vision.
Every panel with a golden arrow can be toggled concerning appearance or sight.
Included two minimap sizes, toggle basic char information and 0,3 or 6 slot inventory visible.
It is a real interface mod, it doesnt add things, it replaces.

Seeing more through widescreen or UI mods is fine. Seeing more through bigger zoom level is not.

2000+ abuse... Have you seen a comparison between widescreen and 4:3? And wth a mod like this Widescreen doesn't even have a tiny vertical disadvantage anymore.
Bah, but sorry, I'm derailing. Nice mod. I don't like minimalistic UIs myself, but many people do, and it looks nice :)

i do understand your point.
and imho you are right, i am strongly against such a zoom lvl that was possible with the console commands.
well, but the only thing working with different resolutions would be letterbox mode or stretching and those are just ugly as hell
(anyway 4:3 monitors are dying - this is not a problem that will last ^^)

i figured there are enough good mods out there (battle of bard and barter :D) and they are already "toggleable" ^^
Nice. Was thinking on making one myself for a couple of days now, will give this a try.
edit: your standalone one is really a honmod one. as much as that prog is nice, it's kinda crap under linux.

New bug: This doesn't work with automatic ability learner, because you change the ability button code.
Also will not work with Vadi's buff indicator mod, colorblind mod, and quickcommands mod.

have u tried another browser ? or perhaps you are using a download addon like e.g. flashgot that doesnt work with mediafire or malfunctions because of some wrong options entered ?

move the yellow arrows to the edge of the screen and like GeForceFX said make the bottom right action box toggle-able also. If you (or anyone) could make a version that would integrate the buff-timers that would be amazing since the numeric timer is far superior to the ultra thin green border.

Are you using the latest version of the mod manager? There were some issue with break lines differences unix <-> windows.

They do work together. Colorblind, Buff mod, quick command, and aal don't work with it.

Yeah, that's what I got aal, is the only one out of your list of four that I use and it didn't complain about that; just voip slider.
Perhaps you've done a new release of voip slider that I don't have MaxGhost? Checking now.

Downloaded the latest version from the master repository and I try to enable and it says, "This mod is incompatible with "voipslider" v0.1.0. You cannot have both enabled at the same time." Is this not the latest version?

Okay, confirmed. If you want this mod to work in honmod format with voip slider you have to remove the incompatibility line and then it refuses to work with auto ablility leveler. The original modder is gonna have to rework it at some point if you want it to work with all your mods.

for aal compatibility, you can check one of the combo mods: someone figured out how to fix it.
I'd also like to see a version with minimap at the top left and unitframes at the bottom left (swapping option or something)

will do - i guess combining them isnt a problem - but its way more difficult to write it accordingly for modman as we use similar lines in the game.interface
more options will come when every issue solution and my basic aimes are finished :D

I love the reduction of screen clutter, but I miss my HP/Mana bar on the bottom, if you could add a scalable pair of those that could be toggled and moved, that would be awesome. If you need help with moving the UI items around, take a look at Barter UI. Oh, and I kind of miss my gold being near bottom as well (Maybe another moveable UI element? Or a new element that pops into obvious position when buying stuff?)
The skill bar would be nice to toggle away as well, since it's almost as useful to me as the commands on the bottom right, after I skill a skill, i usually know my hotkeys.
Great work, I'm very impressed by this. =).

I love the mod but for some reason my mini-map disappears totally and I have no arrow to click on to show / hide it. It just isn't there - however if I or someone else pings where the mini-map would be it pings in the far bottom left corner.
Was this UI designed for wide-screen monitors only? I'm playing on a 22" flat panel.
Also, in-regards to what Tenshuu said, it would be great to have an HP/Mana bar under the skills pane. =)

I had same issue at one point, and then re-read the post. Click on the Sun/Moon wheel at top of screen, and it should pop back up.. click a few times if not.. Worked for me, and then I was able to scale it.

The no deselect mod is a new one, not his fault for not knowing of it yet. He did have an incompatibility reference and still does, he'll probably add it/try to fix the incompatibility soon enough.
When I try to scale the minimap the button that toggles the colors or partners/enemy's dose not stay in the little circle where it should be, kinda sucks that part of top lane is covered by a circle

most of the issues are mentioned in post nr.1 e.g.
Important: To create the variables this mod needs, click once on the Moon/Sun Wheel right under the game clock. This button can be used to reset your custom settings.

- Colorblind and Quick Command Mod Buttons may obtain adverse positions during scaling the Minimap
(This could be solved by the Mod's Creators by changing the Position Data to a relative Value e.g. in %)
for now it s like
functionality <--> compability
if those mods are changed the way i proposed in the near future - the problems will dissolve - otherwise i will start giving up compability and pick up maxghost's suggestion of combo mods (mostly for colorblind, because it is a noble mod imho)
€: damn those new mods ^^ yeah i ll have a look at the no deselect thing (although i think it might get disabled - working against game mechanics imho)
hmm and picklefish didnt convert the colorblind mod himself - i guess it may happen that i release a new tiny and a new colorblind .honmod to preserve compability and yet implement proper button scaling

i love this so much... but it seems to have compatibility issues with other mods.
it won't work with the voice sliding tab mod,
nor the auto ability learning mod.
can anything be done about this?

since most incompatibilities seem to be about a button not existing, perhaps a more broader solution to the incompatibility is to have all the undesired buttons and panels off-screen (to the top left, in case of widescreens) rather than gone. would this work?

viop slider is working with tiny ui - try the newest viop slider version plz
aal is not working because it and tiny ui are using the same panels and both configure them so the search function will only bring one mod to its destination -> change it and thereby leave it unable to be found by the other mod
but as i said i will work on that, somehow aal will be compatible someday ^^

When i try to apply mods with hon mod manager. Tiny UI makes a error "could not find string starting with "<!-- Mini map -->" as sought by game/mods/tinyui.honmod/mod.xml".
Would appreciate if any had a fix for this. Cause i like this addon!.

there is also a conflict with vadi's buff/debuff mod.
the original buff icons are reallly small and don't take up a lot of space at all. there is no other way to tell your buff status in tiny UI (... is there?) maybe it is worth including the original buff icon instead of getting rid of them?
i love the partial scoreboard display. can you have it so that it remembers if u openned it partially? it's so that ppl who always use it in that way can have it open by default. good idea ? bad idea? i'm not quite sure myself.

for some reason it won't show up in my hon mod manager list of mods... all the other mods show up and combine just fine... I am running it on linux under mono... dragging and dropping it onto the window states "tinyui.mod already exists" -- I have tried removing all the mods and just using this one and it stills doesn't show up on the list.

2) in the main area, it shows your attack, armor, movespeed and stats. But why does it only show physical armor rather and not show magical armor? b/c dota was restricted like that? HoN can and should move on. magical reduction is just as important as physical. a mod that takes black area that displays these four pieces of info, and adds the magical armor value as well.
options:
- display percentage reduction instead of armor and magical armor value.
- display all four values.
There may be an issue with fitting both in, but i'm sure it can be done since there is plenty of room to the right of the values in the black area i am talking about (with the 4 pieces of info)
Yes, there are other mods that display these info, but they become redundant and takes up more space on your screen.
I would especially love this in combination with the minimalist TinyUI by FreshM. It would be Ideal if HoN made magical armor standard UI. Even if they did tho, there would still be the need for a mod to allow for one to choose to dislpay percentage reduction rather than armor value.

i'm currently searching for a command similar to exist(variable) giving back 1 or 0 like i'm used to but haven't found it yet
by using the setsave command onload i would overwrite the values the variables already have if they exist and thereby users wouldn't be able to save their panel scaling and positioning (or can i create empty variables that won't override existing variable values ?) - well, i'm working on a possible solution, we'll see where it gets me

vadi's mod should work with tiny concerning the buff icons on the mid bottom
if you are talking about the icons on the upper left - i removed those to get space for my additional bars
a save variable for partial scoreboard shouldn't be a problem
let me fix the major issues - then i'll browse this thread again for new ideas i can implement

you do have a honmod version from your OP. many other mods only have the sz version link. sweet i'll dl and try it.
the issue was that in modmanager it says there is a conflict and wont' let me run both mods ( this is from using the version of tinyUI from the respository)
edit: i downloaded the new link and it is working excellently, i appreciate the work =].

there is someone that touched up your mod to allow indication of summoned units and dominated units and illusions.

afaik u can display that with barters ui - but i'm supporting your point towards s2, it should be implemented in the default ui

the only issue i have with bards buff display is that you can't "click through" them and give attack/move commands. all of barter's mod apps can be "clicked through"
but i guess that not having any display for your tinyUI isn't bad either, since you would want buff status display to be adjustable in position and size. someone that uses tinyUI mod would be familiar with using anther mod. in fact i think u are right in choosing to get rid of status altogether. good call.
i also agree with you agreeing with me that magical armor should be default =P. default would be the best way for compatibility issues with mods.

One thing I liked about the healthbars in the default version is when you hovered you could see your regen rate on both health/mana. No such way in this one as no bar shows it. Great mod though.

what if the stuff on the bottom was put more closer together toward the center? the black box would be closer to the skills bar and same with the items bar. you could fit other apps in the resulting space that is wider, as well as expand the minimap larger without covering the black box.
I tried the mod manager install, didn't work. Added it manually, and everything is fine, except.. I have no minimap. What am I doing wrong?

I used the HoN ModMan and it works perfectly to get those three mods going together.
What I would love from Tiny UI:
A bar for health, mana, and xp just where the skill bar is. That would make the mod perfect.

i found some issues:
1) btw when the game started, the black box was about an inch off of the bottom of the screen.
2) it would also be good if the minimap appeared by default rather than disappear by default. it isn't apparent how to bring up the minimap, and also most ppl want an open minimap at all times than not.
- this seemed to be a one time thing only. it remembers my settings afterwards.

1+2 this is because the variables arent created yet (hint: big red bold text in post nr.1 ^^) - they will be automatically created in the next version
3 could be - in the next version the button will be big enough to be clickable at any mm size -> no moving of the scale bar
4 working on that - we ll see ;) (i personally dont use it as there are the hotkeys "C" and "V" to do that
5 already listed in issues in post nr.1 - i have a solution for this but it requires 2 mods to be adjusted - i already modified them accordingly and as soon as they are in the repository i will release a new version including relative scaling

SUGGESTION: since there is no picture of your own hero at the bottom to cast spells on you should make the small window that shows your attack damage and run speed click-able, simply make it have the same properties that the old picture of your own hero had, this way you can cast skills on yourself easier.

I'd also like to see the moving/talking model thing from before in the top left: It'll give me more incentive to look up there, because there's some stuff moving. I also think that the black background for the little info panel thing (damage, armor, ms, stats) is extremely ugly. If it's possible to bring back the old look for that, I would appreciate it.

The giant scoreboard pop-out kind of ruins the whole idea of the tiny ui, but other than that his changes seem decent.
I think he may have made the small damage, armor, ms, stats window act like the old character portrait used to, so that you can click it to center the camera on your hero and cast spells on yourself. Either way I think you should do that.
If you can find a way to implement the better buff icons with the countdowns that would be amazing.

You have to click the sun/moon icon at the top of your screen. I believe it's right above team deaths. (Or under? I can't remember..)
OP does say you'll need to click it to clear the interface, but I don't think it was very clear. I couldn't figure it out either at first. :p
Once you start getting more of the cosmetic changes done, I'll be even happier with this mod. (Only mod I use so the technical stuff isn't on my list of awesomeness. :()

now i see the purpose of not making the profile picture at the top left dragable. b/c that way you can click on picture to target attack or spell commands. and C and V like u said already has that base covered.
i wonder is it impossible to allow it to both be targeted and held?
i know the target profile picture at the bottom right is on drag rather than targettable.
perhaps if both profile pictures were targettable, and then either C or V could be changed to follow target. this way you could target and follow anyone.

The standalone version is fine, except I no longer have a minimap.
I thought it was a conflict, but I tried the same thing modless and it still appeared.
Also, the HonMod version doesnt compile, it comes up with the error:
could not find the string starting with <panel name="no_select_panel" color="invisible" visible="1" noclikc="1" height="50%" valign="bottom" watch="SelectedVisible0" ontrigger="SerVisible(!param);">" as sought by C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\mods\tinyui.honmod/mod.xml

for your minimap problem.
the error when ur using honmod means there is another program that is conflicting with tiny UI. auto ability learner and dont deselect are the two mods that cannot work with tinyUI right now

Great mod FreshM. Serious props for making things user-definable rather than fixed.
One piece of feedback: Because the level-up buttons are much smaller, I find them easier to overlook in the midst of mayhem and destruction. While I'm getting better at noticing them the more I use the UI, it would be nice if they could be made more noticable.
Thoughts:
1- Have them get much brighter when level-ups happen - fiery/glowing/etc.
2- Have them [hide] when no levels are available to skill up and *pop-up* just like the regular level-up buttons do when there are levels available.
3- Have them increase in size slightly (scalable?) when levels are available.
Thanks either way, keep it up!

as long as #1 is brigth and glowy enough #2 wont' be necdessary. b/c mousing over it gives the popup info for each level which you dont get with just the big skill icons.
#3 is good too, altho i personlly dont find any problem wiht the current. (going from neutral to better is how i see #3)

Feedback: I love the tiny little hero icon thingy. It's awesome. What I don't like however is the fact that the "damage, armor, ms, stats" panel still has a black background. That's ugly. Can you at least make it transparent/click-through if you can't add a fancy texture behind it?

Would really like to give this mod a go but for some reason Hon Mod is giving a error that says "Unknown element 'incompatibility' in D:\Programs\Heroes of Newerth\game\mods\tinyui.honmod/mod.xml"
I first tried it with some other mods installed that I didn't think it would be incompatible with, so I suspected I may have overlooked them and deleted them all, but it still doesn't work.

so you can take your hero, and give the attack command on that black box area with stats, and it won't negate your command? but mousing over would still show the tooltip pop up? thats awesome.

i gave it a try with hon mod manager but somehow tinyUI didnt work.. dunno whats wrong..
there was also a error when i clicked on "apply mods and start HoN"

okay, from the below screenshot, i turned off tinyUI and turned on VOIP. it great success. i switch, great success. i do both tinyUI and VOIP. error.

I don't like how you're using .honmods FreshM. I'm trying to convert the Minimap right-click toggle mod to honmod format, but you're using bits of code I need to change as reference points for replacing stuff. In other words, you can add it to you're incompatibilities list until you find a way to fix that.

this time i disabled EVERY honmod except for tiny UI and voip and it conflicts.
since it says string starting with .... is not found, do u think maybe a core file was altered?

Then you might want to update the VOIP mod because I released an update for it about a week and a half ago to fix the incompatibility with TinyUI.

are you sure ? i updated colorblind mod myself a few days ago to make them compatible

i dont think that ive changed the concerned parts since then

I'm using latest HoNModMan, latest TinyUI which I have to say it's pretty awesome, and the latest ColorBlind mode (on website latest version is 2.4, but in HoNMan it shows as v3.0, maybe some bad string somewhere). Anyway I still get the error.
A suggestion I would like to give you.. to make the Tiny UI even tinier.
You can remove the Learning button from above the spells and make the spell button actually the learning button when you level up (who clicks on those buttons anyway ? and the fact that the Learning buttons are permanent it's kinda annoying and looks bad). Then make the skill buttons smaller, but not as small as the learning buttons, because most of us just need to check the cooldown from time to time.
Edit: also you could do the same with the inventory, because most of us use hotkeys.

FRESHM i just found something. the little profile you have on the skills area. we already know you can click it and hold it and it will follow your hero right? well you can also target it with spellsand it will work. This means you can apply both functions to the top left profile picture too. chasecam + target spells- not just one.
edit: NVM keep it the way it is. actually after having thoguth about it, it would be better not to have chase cam on those. chase cam means even a regular click can focus on them, when you might not want that. it's mainly used for targetting spells so i guess it's good to keep it that way. the top left pictures still let you focus on that hero if u double click it so i guess it's all good.

I got a problem with this mod. It doesn't show me the minimap. It is sort of hidden below the screen in the corner and all the blinks and pinging are in 1 corner. I got a widescreen 1280x800

if u are using s2z and insist on using s2z then click the sun/moon icon at the center top. after you do this, and it appears, it shouldn't disappear anymore

btw better buff/debuff seems to get overridden by either bardsUI or tinyUI. (can't get icons postioined wihle at the same time display numbers on the icon itself.)

the number in the buff icon is not the remaining time but the remaining charges of nature's vengeance...
i think there's no option in any mod atm to reposition the buffs/debuffs and show remaining time in the icon while using tiny ui.

- its bard ui - he deletes the default buff icons and creates new ones that can be edited via his options; tiny ui doesnt affect them anymore (only deletes the small one in upper left corner)
- the skill and lvl up section as it is now will be reworked anyways but i'm sure there are people that click abilities that's why i kept both at first; on the other hand tiny ui is a mod that adresses more experiencend players - we will see to what solution i may come
- the pictures on the first page are taken with the version 1.0 - at that version i edited the buff icons but dropped it again to make tiny ui compatible with vadi buffs (and btw the 6 within the icon is "charges" not "time remaining")
- i will have a look at the minimap right click toggle, and yeah maxghost i know sometimes other mods just piss one off ^^ possessing the precious lines u want to use :D
- so viop slider ? hmm i think i'm using tiny and voip in the newest versions and don't get any errors ... gwho plz give me the exact line the error notification sends you

- btw this same message comes up when i disable EVERY OTHER honmod and activate only tinyUI and VOIP.
- I tried redownloading both honmod files from OP and repository.
- i also tried disabling/testing other files, including s2z files to see if they were interfering, and could not solve it. maybe resource0, or resource 999, is interfering? those are the ones i didn't try moving out of the folder. or maybe a core file was corrupted. textures (the s2z file) is fine - i replaced it with a backed up one so it's fresh and pristine.

- some ppl (like me) still use clicking, even tho i'm trying to swtich.
- PLUSSSS when you want to transfer items from stash to your hero/monkey, you need the inventory slots to do so.

^Please no. When you level up in the middle of a battle you want your spell hotkey or button to work, not just level up. Also, the small buttons have different information on their tooltips than the large spell button does.

- Awesome mod but i would like to have the moneys-bar and lvl-number at the bottom over the stats of my hero (and the exp-bar anywhere at the bottom if possible)

By far favorite addon. I used this for a while, then played a game without it. I was amazed by how small my screen felt. It was so wierd! This addon is AMAZING mixed with Bard UI for the frames. Also good with some other ones, but the only problem is so few work with this addon! I love it so much I make sacrifices <3

yeah it was hard for me at first too.. even now i sometimes confuse my experience as my gold.

AMAZING MOD!! Couple things though:
1. Incompatible with the new Spell Channeling Mod. I know it's not your fault or anything, but wanted to make you aware of the new problem. Edit: Seems like the Spell Channeling Mod was edited, so no longer a problem!
2. Not a bug, but just a suggestion. Would be nice if you allowed for customization of ALL the different panels. Specifically, moving them around to different parts of the screen and possibly even allow scaling of each (kind of like BardUI).
Other than that, this is probably one of the best mods out there (Although Picklefish Stats and BardUI are pretty awesome too :-p).

This mod doesn't seem to work on my computer anymore. I'm using the honmod version and when i apply it for the game it says Great success. But the new interface isn't shown ingame.

the Automatic Ability Learner mod is also incompatible with this mod, as well as the right-click minimap toggle mod. As far as I know, those are the only ones. Btw, this was answered earlier in the thread too :-p
this doesnt seem to be working after the the .50 patch

the portrait is used on the top left which si th eregular size. the small one on the bottom was added in from having nothing there. they each provide different functions.
the small one u can hold click and follow urself. ucant do that with the top left. can you target yourself with spells with the small one at the bottom? i haven't tried this yet.

I just downlaoded the mod and started a practice game.
I could not seem to find the minimap, or any arrow to activate it.
Also, when i clicked "menu" hon crashed.

make sure ur using the latest version. also close honmod manager while ur updating or else it wont.
if u still have no minimap, click the sun/moon thing in the top middle and it will appear. After this, it will always remain. the minimap not being there is just for the first time when u download it.
(the new update was supposed to get rid of this problem, but either u dont truly have the newest version, or u can just do this method to make it appear and have it stay)

If you use .honmods, yes, but this mod does have alot of incompatibility issues.

it's weird. i had that error come up when i first tried to use the temprorary fix. but now its working after i tried downloading it later. try this and see if it doenst claer it up:
1) clean out your cache (use Ccleaner)
2) restart your browser
3) completely delete all existing tiny UI files
4) when you download make sure hon, isn't running
5) make sure the modman isn't open

oh, too bad.
i remember i got the same error message as you did. i was gonna post but i just decided not to. then after a while i redownloaded and it worked.
did u try downloading from the link in post #218?

as illogical as it sounds, downloading from a differnt link, even tho it's just a reproduction of the same link will solve things sometimes. it happened with another mod, and this one as well. the first time i downlaoded from post # 216, which gave me the error message. the 2nd time when it worked was from post #218.
if it still doesn't work, i'm out of advice. someone with technical knowledge can point out what the exact difference is.

been trying to fidle with the mod manager and mods, most recently i tried so ui changing ones...
most added more options, not all worked, but they were still bulky.
tried to enable this one, but it kept giving me an error. i tried downloading the newest version, but... i replaced the old version and the manager still says that it is v1.12
anyone tell me how i might remedy this....really want to use this mod.

everything i have tried thus far, has failed to change the fact that it stays at version 1.12 even though i downloaded the newest one from the available like for .14

I don't know what the problem is, since I don't use this mod anymore, but remember this, TinyUI is incompatible with a number of mod, most importantly, Automatic Ability Learner and Right Click Mini Map Toggle. If you have either of these, or both, you will have to choose between those and TinyUI.

Hey, i am stupid ass in HoN modding. I was able to get the standalone thing to work by just putting it in the correct folder, but i see that it is not updated. How do i get the .honmod file, which is 1.14, to work as the standalone file did?

Guys. The 1.12 version IS A TYPO in that version. It's actually the latest one and has all the latest features. Delete your other TinyUI mods in your mod folder, and it'll work.

So anyone knows how to fix the clock issue? Just downloaded the mod and tried both the link in OP post and the one linked to above somewhere, also tried disabling all other mods meanwhile etc..

kinda strange but had the same thing,
solved it by:
enabling all mods i use except tinyui
starting a practice game
setting all variables (bard/barter can't remember which one)
console -> "reloadinterfaces"
quit hon
enable tinyui
maybe this will help someone ^^

Hmmm.. for some reason the text from items in the stash overlaps the items, thus making them extremely hard to click. I don't know if it's because of the mod but it started after installing it and before 1.51.

I got the same error.
I downloaded Tiny UI and ModManager today. And I already disabled all other mods and I still got the error.
EDIT:
*blush* Now I downloaded the 1.51-fixed-version and it works. Even with RuneTimer.
But why is this newer version not linked on the first page?

NO! It doesn't work. Only ModManager said "Great Success". But when I start a game it gets reeeeaaaaly sloooowww. When I move the mouse, the music stutters and the movements stop. And most of the time there's no interface at all. :(
I had to end the game with Ctrl+Alt+Del, because I was not able to reach the menu-button, because everything was so slow.
Then I only disabled TinyUI, opened a new game and everything worked.
I enabled TinyUI again and - again- I had to terminate the Program with Ctrl+Alt+Del.
I'm using: Windows XP Prof SP3, newest HoN, ModManager 1.0.3.0. and TinyUI 1.51-fixed,
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21 GHz, 2 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 6600 GT.
Perhaps this helps finding the problem.

never done a practice game or used console...so i am not 100percent sure on any of that.
however i think there might have been a time pre-hon_modmanager that used one of the other files u put in your game folder. that could also be effecting things, however i dont know which files were the original ones. so i can just delete any extras i may have put in there.
yet for now i am sorta ok with just using the other ui mods...still just a bit bulky.
