If a user quits (disc/rage/kick/time out), anyone in the team should be able to invite a friend to take the spot and continue the match fairly.

Don't see why not, I'd like this. Maybe put a 1 minute "invite window" after the 5 mins are up.

Balance wouldn't work and it'd get abused a lot.
Scenario
A team of 4 friends playing, with 1 pub, a friend of theirs come online, they kick the pub invite the friend.
