Hi there!
I just tried the game for the first time today going through the tutorial.
I first tried it on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.7 (previous generation with Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics with 512 MB VRAM and 8 GB RAM) and I noticed that I could scroll around on the screen smoothly (at least 60 FPS) but as soon as the hero character game into the view the frame rate started to stutter. It seemed a bit unmotivated that the frame rate should drop that much just because of that.
I tried lowering the graphics settings a little, but it behaved the same. The slowdown also happens when viewing a fight that the AI controlled minions (whatever they're called). Is it some kind of particle effect that causes it?
Anyway, I tried on a different computer, a desktop tower with at Core i7 920 processor, 6 GB RAM and Radeon HD 4890 graphics card with 1 GB VRAM. Running the game in Windows on this machine was flawless on the highest settings. I also tried the game in Mac OS X on this machine (which I guess isn't supported since it's not a Mac, but Starcraft 2 and several other games run just as well as in Windows) and I got the same problem as on the MacBook Pro.
So, what gives? Is this the way the game currently behaves on the Mac or am I doing something wrong?
