The first attempt was to make some 3D Rainbow Unicorn Rampage mod ... but I had too much troubles to make him jump properly.
Nevertheless, this game is a lot of fun : you run through the forest, and you've got to dodge the trees !
(like George in the Jungle).
There are 3 tracks you can run on ... one left, one in the middle and one on the right.
You may use only 2 buttons, your E and R spell, to change your current path.
Don't use the mouse, it slows you down too much! :ramp:
Every time you complete a level, you gain 100 gold and you teleport to the next level.
But your Rhino :ramp: will run faster and faster ... so you will need faster reactions !
When you drove your Rhino :ramp: into too many trees, he will faint, and you have to start again ...
You get 3 chances to get your best score !
Auto-moving camera, using 3 invisible dummy runners
Leveling system with teleports
9 tracks, but you can add your own tracks easily! No need to adjust the scripts, just open this map in the editor and put some trees!
Updates containing cooler gameplay possible : jumps, bonuses, music & sounds, effects ...

Load it twice (on a Practice Mode server) to play!

I am impressed! This is a really fun mod, which is very well made. Thanks for your effort, Tafelpoot! :)
I think more single player custom mods should be added, cause they are usually (when not full of bugs and problems) very very cool! :D
Back to this game.
Info for noobs:
Here is what I did to get the game to work (in case someone doesn't get it). After downloading the map into the maps folder in hon/game/maps, I launched HoN, created game (Rampage Runner), ran it in Practice Mode (only way for me, maybe others can play without it, I dunno), then, after launching it, I disconnected from the game (or else the trees doesn't hurt you, and you will be stuck in level 1 forevever). After that, create the same game, launch it, and it's fine!
Feedback for creator:
In-game, after launching it correctly, I found something that needs to be fixed. I noticed that after each level your speed gets stacked (which is a buff that also tells you what level and movement speed you are), and that is a very nice feature, but, you also have to reset that stack when the hero dies. I died in level 3, and noticed that I still had the level 3 stack on me, instead of one, giving me the wrong starter movement speed.
I like how the levels (terrain) changes, so it doesn't stay the same during the whole game, but, be carefull when you place the trees to close to each other. At level two, I found some dead ends (dunno if that was on purpose, but if it were, I wouldn't recommend it in such a early level), which made me loose pretty quick. I suggest, maybe have some wider tracks as the levels increase (and then more trees).
Will you keep improving this game? Bug fixes, more levels, misc.? I would recommend you to work on this game, cause it has a very cool conscept! :)
My last words are, you did a great job here. So, good luck further on your later progress! :)

Good that you added some info for people new with custom maps, I assumed most people knew this already :). You can only use Practice Servers for custom maps, since S2 doesn't host them yet. You have to load it 2 times, because it starts right away (no lobby, no pick, no load phase). You can eventually fix this by extracting a copy of the resources folder in the map, then name it resources1.s2z .
About the bug : actually that is intensionally, because I found the speed at the first level a bit boring :D ... and it's pretty cool when it goes really fast :D
I'll reverse this in the next version .. or make it optionally
About the toughness : yes, that 2nd level is a bit too hard (and also the light trees level). But I must say, I think everything is possible when you have the right timing... I never got passed lvl 7 yet :)
I think I just like a hard game :D ...
I'm quite busy with university now, but I'll certainly update this :)
I'm looking for a good soundtrack ... any suggestions ?

About soundtracks, no sorry, don't have much knowledge about that. Anyways, people like it hard, just make sure that people doesn't die cause of dead ends or anything like that. No problem with the smileys xD

Jahjah, who already made some amazing maps, is working on a polished version of this map. The demo (see screenshots) looks very promising so I'm looking forward to his work !
I am considering to change a few mechanics : you get full health every level, but there's no regeneration and hitting a tree hurts more. When you complete a level without taking any damage, you get bonus gold. Also, the creepers (icefrogs, salamanders ...) will give bonus gold.
I might also add a function to play with Rainbow Rampage :)

Just had a try at this map, I was awful, could only get to the 3rd level. I'll improve with practice, though! :ramp:
It's a really fun map, only suggestion I have is that you could maybe add power-ups (Either you pick them up when you run over them [you would only have 1 inventory slot for a power-up] or you use them instantly).
I only have ideas for 3 ones so far:
Pint-size: Dramatically shrinks your rhino for a few seconds, allowing you to path through trees.
Super-size: Dramatically increases the size of your rhino, allowing you to run over trees without taking any damage for a few seconds.
Super-stomp: The rhino does a magically enhanced stomp destroying all trees in X AoE.
Of course, for the hardcore players there should be a no power-ups mode! There could also be detrimental power-ups if you want to put them in.

Actually I already implemented a stomp .. but I don't like it that much.
If you want to use it, open the s2z file with winrar or so, go to resources/units/rampage/ and open hero.entity . Then set inventory0 or 1 to "Rb_Ability_Stomp" and save it.
I can look for the others, but I'm a bit busy atm.

you could also add in power-ups that you want to avoid, like haste runes that make you run faster, or generally make things harder

I made it to lvl 5. Really hard! Something saying what lvl ur on would be good tho.

I found it quite amazing, it was hard till i started usin my mouse which made it a lot easier and unharmful :P
anyway, pretty great job, i'm inclined to donate some to you in order to gratify you for your work, do you use paypal? and offering any help u may need, to try and create new stuff

some of the trees are kind of impossible to get past using only the keyboard, because of the jerky movements. i would suggest only putting the trees in lanes 1, 2, and 3, and not inbetween lanes, similar to frogger.
an issue i had was when i got to level 3 or 4 my camera would just stop following me and slowly move to the bottom right making it impossible for me to continue.

Taiya, this is because you use mouse (i guess). You get too far behind and the 3 invisible runners, one on each lane, are not teleported to the next level.
About the really hard parts : sometimes I just spammed random trees so it can be impossible to get through :D

This is my progress :
- checked the lanes, moved some trees , it should be possible to finish it without getting hurt
- some code improvements
- new textures for all the lanes
- grass and flowers
- randomized the cliffs
- implemented the grow and shrink spell (but not using it yet)
- added awesome music
To do for next patch :
- place decoration entities like shrines
- add powerup system = fill in the first 2 spells, I'm considering collectible critters that grant you max-payne slow motion time and another for healing/immunity. Healing is like 10 hp for 1 charge, 20 for 2, 40 for 3, 80 for 4 charges.
- finish all the lanes
- remove the losing condition (= die 3 times)
- some effects
I tried to make him jump again but it really looks goofy :(
This week somewhere I hope to finish this patch.

Although I encouterd a bug.
I died after completing a few levels, and then completed the second level, which then made the camera go against the spawn point so i had to play the second level BACKWARDS which was pretty cool and then i ran over the wall from the second level to the first one and finally to the spawn point where i just stopped along with the camera.
Sorry if this is confusing, just ask me and i'll try to clearify.
