Hello guys and welcome this is Bart13t one of the lead admins from The Fragment and I am going to talk a little bit about the league and what we have to offer including how to join, why to join and other questions.

First off, The fragment has been running for about a month now and we have had well over 1000 games played in semi and high. Also, over the past week our league has been continuing to grow and strive as new users join everyday our average new user count over the last 3-5 days is about 20 per day! Now there are a few things I want to cover in this post so lets get started:

We are located in Quakenet Irc and our main channel is #Thefragment.

When you arrive in #thefragment type .vouchme <Ingamename> so for example I would type .vouchme Bart13t and there are a few things that you might see including:

<<Vouch>> There was an error with your vouch; you must be authed with Q first!. To find out how to do this; go here: http://www.justin.tv/bart13t/b/284520576

That means you are not registered with the IRC server and its really simple to solve this and I made a nice easy to use video above.

The second response would be:

<<Vouch>> There was an error with your vouch: Minimum requirements are 1700+ PSR or MMR! Additionally, PSR must be greater than 1600.

Now I just want to talk about this. We try to keep the semi league professional and weeding out low skilled players however we are aware that the TMM system is not the best so feel free to pm me in irc by double clicking my name in irc which is Bart13t or Bart13t-AFK and we can discuss. We are adding a low league very soon due to the demand in users and some users feeling that semi is a little above their level so do not fear if you dont get accepted hear we have plenty of admins who are understanding and willing to accommodate you.

The third is :

<<Vouch>> Congratulations! You have been vouched into #thefragment.semi Join the channel and type .commands to get started.

Which means that you have been accepted and welcome to the league! we have a detailed explanation of our commands at http://www.thefragment.net/thread-162.html

The last one is:

Which means that you have the potential to play in our high league and you can write up an application currently we have LOLINVISRUNE from InFz and MOtif from OK sorting through applications and your wait will not be long!

Hopefully I can answer your questions and will keep the topic updated with common questions!

1) what is the fragment and why should I join?

Well the fragment is a Heros Of Newerth In House League designed for players who want to get their competitive experience increased. We have actually had a lot of success in this area as players in our high league play with some of the best including members from SK, EG, MSI And many other top clans (Check the signature). We also have our semielite league which is designed specifically for users who haven't made it to that top tier yet but want to build up their experience and seek to play at that level. Also, we have a nice sized ventrilo so after you are done playing hard core competitive you can always use it to just hang out and experience the social aspects the league has to offer as well. We have a lot of users in our league joining all sorts of various clans.

2) How do I join?

Well the fragment is an IRC (Internet Realy Chat) based league and all the information can be found on how to join, access and play in our league in my easy to use tutorial here:

3) Do you have a website or anything to offer?

Yes we do on top of our always active ventrilo ;) We have an entire website that is designed to accommodate the users in the league and our site is : www.thefragment.net (http://www.thefragment.net/)
This site is used for many things including the high league application system we currently have in place. Also, starting our first actual month we will have Cash, in game coins and other prizes up for grabs for the users in our league!!

4) I am not getting picked in challenges and no one joins .sg how can you change this?

We are currently in the process of coding our bot to reward users who play .sg and with adding cash prizes and so on and so forth .sg will be the way to go if you want to finish in the top 5 ranks.

Hey bart, I just played 2 pub games (who plays that anymore?) to get 1600 PSR, last one didn't get recorded so I had to play another one... cool story.

But now your IRC bot won't let me in, even though I got > 1700 MMR and > 1600 PSR. Help!! :)

What happens if a player drops below 1700 or 1600psr while vouched? Are they instantly removed?

ESFS no because if you can make the requirements once then ti shows that you meet them. Especially PSR because 1) No one really plays it anymore except for tournaments and our league so.

Nobody in semi has high enough PSR to care ~1600-1700. I don't know why you're saying you can lose 40 psr in a game - you must be 1200 rated or something - the max for anybody not the dumpster is 9/10.

Second part is clearly saying that you do need 1600+ PSR no matter what MMR you have.

Well I dont know if that Korean flag means your Korean or if you just bought it to buy it but either way if you are Korean then I apologize that we dont have a korean player base... if you arent korean and are US or Euro then there should be no reason why you are having trouble getting into games however we are planning a way to boost activity that we are releasing soon so keep your eyes out.

this hasnt to do anything with my region.
a simple but good example: FJ starts a game, 3 players sign in, i do as well = 5 players in pool. then i waited like 30-40 mins doing some internet stuff in that time, but no more players signed in for a single game.

this was at 4pm CET, i dont know if the games get filled faster at common US times, but if i have to wait an hour or more, to find a single game, this is nothing for me.

i grinded up my MMR so i could apply for this league.

i joined hoping to learn things and play in a more serious environment where people actually wanted to win. unfortunately out of the 3-4 games i managed to play certain people were just awful to not only me but other people on the team.

my very first game someone disconnected and randomned so everyone agreed we would remake. to speed things along i picked NH and this guy chuck norris blows up over the mic saying im retarded and he will have me banned from the league my first game.

we ended up playing the game, this same guy told everyone who to pick and play and kept threatening them if they didnt obey. naturally his picks led him to being solo mid with a carry and he didnt do very well. i think he must have called me retarded over 50 times this game. we lost of course.

i played another game after this with entirely different people but the same exact thing happened. some guy told everyone who they will pick, play, and that we were all retarded anytime something didn't work out. i actually had to manually go into ventrilo and turn his personal voice down like -30% because he kept screaming retard at us. we lost this game too.

then i spent several hours trying to get into a game but no one would pick me because my public stats are .8kd (even though my MMR is more recent) and because i hadn't won any games yet.

finally i got into another game where i was reluctantly last picked by a group of guys who were obviously friends. no one would acknowledge anything i said in ventrilo outside of the initial "can you hear me?". other than this every game they pretended i just didnt exist, they would make fun of me, call me retarded and when i would try to talk to them they'd either ignore me outright or talk over me.

even some guy spectating the last game i played was making fun of an item i bought in chat and also ghosting for our team in ventrilo (lol?)

they also kept saying they were going to report me for buying the wrong starting items. but no one ever actually told me what i should buy, which is why i joined the league.... to learn things.


oh well, the whole experience was really a drag.

Joined the semi IHL a while ago and I've experienced 3 kinds of people there:

1) "I'm in the semi IHL so I know every single strat and you better listen to me or I'm gonna rage at you."
2) "I'm in the semi IHL so I can give you a shitty attitude without a reason."
3) "My main account is in the IHL so I'm gonna stomp the semi IHL with my smurf."

After a few games without any change in the overall attitude, I just forgot about the entire thing.

Im actually surprised semi is as bad as you guys are saying, because every contact I had with a semi player they just wanted tips or something like this. treefingers, you should probably ask to be promoted to Leader so you can avoid situations like this. Also, now that the inhouse ladder has been reseted, it should be more active.

to be fair, this kid had nothing to do with the EG vs. MSI match getting postponed. The match Honcast was going to cover (after the EG-MSI match got postponed) was a random Fragment match, which they were kicked from.

Think back to the AMXZaku ventcasts during the HoNor tournament.
Its nothing personal.
BreakyCPK specifically said he WOULD NOT cast any of our games, when he tried to do it he got kicked.
Chicharito and breaky had an argument a while back, this may have fuelled what happened yesterday.
We are working with breaky to sort through this, as always would like to have a friend over an enemy.

I used to run the league before I left due to his ****. I'm more qualified than pretty much anyone to know exactly what an immature and childish person he is.

I have no problem with your league. I just think that maybe after he drove one into the ground, keeping him around as head guy for round two was sort of shooting yourself in the foot.
