Control ranged enemy creeps and a few buff neutrals. Don't forget to run them back to the fountain when you die. If you've got a few extra laying around, send them around the map as scouts.

usefull mentions:

vulpture lord

use his ability, and send the tornado to attack an enemy hero

the tornado is 45 magic damage per second for 30 seconds
so this is incredible harrassment early on

Wolf Commander, +30% base damage is nice on the higher levels

snotter boss, gives movement speed, not that usefull but still good

Minotaur, +15 attack speed and a 2 second stun

if you want to just harrass get some ranged creeps, but the stun or aura buffs are usefull for the entire team

Big Minotaurs
Big Catmen (well, the ones with the AoE slow, can't access the game so I can't confirm their name)
Skeleton Lords (ONLY ONCE HE GETS THE ENSNARE ABILITY, LIKE IN DOTA)
Vulture Lords / Any Aura neutral (Wolfmen, the big Snotter)

Stay away from anything that isn't mentioned in this list, it's not worth it.
Prioritize converting them in that order. Ideally you want 3 Minos or Cats at level 5. Everything else is secndary. If you can't find minos or cats, get a Snotter for the movespeed aura. Even though Vulture lords are ok, they are very situational and clunky to use.

Skills (don't remember the correct names, somebody please link the thread with all hero skill names):
Conversion

Judgement

Max Judgement
etc.

You can invest in Judgement instead of Slow if you have no problems with setting up your ganks. Some ranks of slow are a good idea however as it can help your teammates to position themselves.

Items:
Starting - Either Marchers or Ring of the Teacher and a Healing Potion
You will be in the jungle most of the time, so no need for anything else. Marchers are good if you intend to gank early (level 2-3) as most heroes will not have Marchers of their own and you can often get a kill if you initiate with a Minotaur stun and slow them. Ring is better if you intend to jungle for longer, but there is no real inate advantage to either choice, so it's up to you.

Early Game - Marchers / Ring of the Teacher, if you don't have them yet, some totems and +2 stat thingies as needed.

Midgame - Astrolabe, Fortified Bracelets as needed. Enhanced Marchers.

Homecoming Stones are a good thing, like on every hero, but they are less effective on you because you cannot teleport your creeps with you. Nonetheless you should carry one with you at all times, even if just for the escape option it offers.

This is your core build. After this it's largely free to choose whatever you want. Puzzlebox or Codex might be a good idea. Stormspirit will help you set up your Minotaur stun combos. Totem of Kuldra for disabling and setting up combos.

Whipsering Helm isn't really the best choice as one extra creep to control will make little difference at this point, especially considering the gold investment. Shieldbreaker suffers a similar fate, but if you can get it early enough it can be a large damage boost, then again, you lose any utility and support that a Totem of Kuldra could offer, for similar amounts gold.

Early game you can jungle very easily, just charm a creep, kill creeps with him until he dies, charm another, ect. Start with Ring of the teacher and go for Astrolabe after that.

Creep management differs at different stages of the game. Earlygame it matters little but if your nearest lane is having problems, charm a vulture lord and use his tornado on the enemy heroes, but conceal him so he doesn't get sniped.

Once you hit lv7 you should be out ganking, you can have lv4 charm so you can get three minotaurs, tristun is EXTREMELY powerful if you can micro the creeps. It's much harder than it is in DotA because HoN wasn't built around controlling multiple units.

Later in the game when creeps start losing their effectiveness the best option is to get a minotaur, a snotter boss, and a wolf commander for triaura, 30%dmg 12% movement and 15%atkspe in a teamfight is very strong.

Once they give the skeleton king his net ability (which they should!) the most effective setup early game will be 1 skeleton king and 2 minotaurs.
