HoN won't launch

Hey I'm a noob to Linux and was wondering how to launch HoN, since after I press Heroes of Newerth on after going to applications > Games > HoN. The monitor just flickers like once and then it still doesn't start up! ASGUFYSDFHJGb

Edit: How do I perform the tests? its says in the support wiki "To diagnose the cause of why HoN does not start a few simple tests must be performed." What tests though? The stuff below it? The
System 3D capability section?

If so can you walk me through this set up?

I typed in cat /etc/lsb-release
and this is what I got for the version

Ubuntu
10.04
lucid
Ubuntu 10.4 LTS
