What is the most common/the best build to play slither as dps?

I figured: steamboots, assasins' shroud, bracelets, wingbow, geometer's bane(?), is some sort of lifesteal necessary?


Or is it just better to play slither in a different way?

He's not a DPSer.

What he is is an item independent ganker who does massive AoE dps early-mid game that can greatly impact your team's chances of victory.

Trainingday has a pretty decent premium guide on Slither.

His real value is more apparent in more organized games where it is okay to be the person who wastes half their gold on wards early on in order to make life miserable for the opposing team.

Although I'm not an experienced player, I agree with dreamex. The few times I actually picked Slither it felt like playing an Int ganker because of his massive early and mid game damage, which, combined with his slow, makes him a really annoying ganker. But none of his abilities scale well into late game, so he's really neither carry nor agi dps. I would prefer Arachna over him all the time. She can do the same things early-mid and scales better in late.

He is a ganker, not a DPS-er. But if you so want to go on that path, I advice chain lightning (sorry, don't know the names of all the items yet..). Makes you more usefull in team fights.

Yeah Slither is not dps in the slightest.

He's a wandering AoE gank machine that can maintain lane presence with a billion wards.
