Why do you play games?: They provide sweet, sweet entertainment for when im home and got nothing to do.

Do you consider yourself addicted?: Semi. I can easily be on say, a camp, without any need to use a computer or game. But when it's available, I kind of have to play SOME.

Have you met any of your online friends in real life?: Yes, I married this 50-year-old lvl 80 necromancer, in-game and IRL. But I did it for the phat lewtz and the lulz... No, of course I haven't. That's just weird.

Do you get angry when playing?: I like to do cocaine before I play video games, and then I proceed to break everything in a 10 ft. vicinity whenever I lose at any game. I've gone through 12 computers now.

Have you ever broken anything? (Keyboard, mouse, screen, walls etc.): I once nearly broke my jaw. I had to go to the hospital for it, because I had a huge chunk of my desk lodged into my teeth. What can I say, I was really angry.

Do you know any projects/documentaries/surveys like this already made? (links appreciated): Video game addiction, as well as addiction to computer/internet, is sadly documented very little. These are the sort of addictions that plague the Middle Class across the modernized world today. We need to be aware of the growing problem of sedentary behavior that computer usage and video game playing not only requires but ritualizes, with both having methods of delivering easy, instant recreation to human beings. Meanwhile, your body is slowly being deformed by generally sedentary body positions, leaving the human exhausted short-term and frail from poor body posture long-term. Make no mistake: these addictions are now at the forefront of human conditioning problems in the industrialized world.

I, like most rational people, weigh incentives against each other, and sometimes the enjoyment I get out of skipping school to game outweighs the consequences. This happens very rarely though.

Which games do you play?: Savage 2, Source Engine mods, Fallout, Globulos, Chess, Basketball, Tetris... Mind you, these are some of the games I've been playing most recently.

Why do you play games?: Mostly because they're fun. They're entertainment. Some games, usually strategic games, can also help you keep your mind sharp by making you think. I'm also interested in actual game theory, optimal strategies, how games work, etc. Psychologically, "fun" has to do with learning patterns and stuff. I don't really know much about it, so maybe you can investigate more, if it's useful for your assignment.

How many hrs/week do you play?: I'd say about 7-16 hours per week, depending if I'm busy with school and if there are any new games I'm playing at that moment. It's hard to say, really.
