As you can see it was as low as 70 cents just not too long ago. USD was very expensive then (even more so in the early 2000s), but now it's the place to get cheap goods and holidays. The new thailand, if you will.

Yes, It's funny when Americans complain about Video games are too expensive at $50. It's irritating. That, and the fact that Americans can get ****ing Celebii for their pokedexes, and yet complain they have to drive 20 miles to go get it.

I'm in ****ing Australia, the land where there's no R18 rating on games! Where theres never even been an international Pokemon tournament, and the VGC doesn't even allow Australia to even compete.

E-Sports comes to die here.

I don't know about your eyes, but I work at a supermarket, and I am on registers fairly often. Our $50 dollar bill is actually more of a yellow. Want proof?

But yes, I agree, e-sports dies in Australia. Also, **** gets sent out in the 1000's to Australia or more, but even though our dollar is cheaper, we get charged an extra 100 - 200 bucks for things like graphics cards and the like. It makes no sense, especially when a consumer is able to buy it brand new from america, and get it here far cheaper, even though they don't get the discount that suppliers do when buying in bulk.

go ahead and split hairs Shadow, I call it more of an orange.

Regardless, the colour of Australian notes actually do fade over time, so it is highly unlikely that whatever colour that the note actually is will turn orange. (Physically impossible really).

So, it's either yellow, or it will be soon O_O

They're pineapple colour (which is more yellow than orange).

I have not actually heard of an official colour called Pineapple colour, but it appears it is more yellow than orange, so I agree with Roger, clearly :D

I don't think you understand, I'm saying it looks orange. My opinion, my rules.

We have famous Australian poems on the front and back of the 10 dollar note, microscopically placed onto the note. Now that's ****in sick ;D Also, that bit with the southern cross star? The black around it is actually clear kinda... plastic I guess, it's hard to describe, but it's awesome :3

Remember, to be a true Australian, you have to have absolutely no clue who the hell is on any note.

Oh, except Banjo Patterson. That one's easy.

This. And also, I have no clue who that aboriginal dude is on the 50 dollar note. But it is clearly just Australia sucking up to them because the 50 dollar note is the most popular yet largest note we have in Australia, (yes we have the 100 note which is the biggest in size and currency, but it's rarely used).

Regardless, our currency still trumps everything else. And who the hell uses paper currency for $1? Here comes the $1 and $2 coin:

That's right, mother ****ing Kangaroos. Gotta have your favourite form of transport on some kind of currency.

SlowKing

What I don't understand is why the $1 is bigger than the $2. It makes no sense, the coin has a higher material cost than that of its more valuable counterpart. New Zealand has it right, although they have minuscule centses.

ShadowExile

The $2 coin is only there to impress the Aboriginals for having a dude on it that is worth more than the $1 coin. But the $1 coin is bigger because we all know Kangaroos are way cooler than Aboriginals.

$2 coin and $1 coin are the same size as the 5c and 10c pieces respectively. Dunno.

Larger value notes are also bigger than smaller ones as well.
