Hello,
i know a new patch is out, but the autoupdate function doesnt work for me.

my problem:

I start hon and type my login information. Then i get in like im used to, but i miss the automatic update request. Im running hon on an archlinux. My hon version is 2.0.22 but the newest version is 2.0.23. I had the same problems with previous updates. There i uninstalled hon and downloaded the newest client, but that cant be a solution. How can i fix this or how can i manualy update?

port forwarding:

I forwarded port 80 for me, which the wiki says its used for login and update issues. But i dont think tahts the problem, because if i boot windows there the autoupdate is done sucessfully.

hon location:

Hon is installed in ~/HoN and all files are owned by my username.

shell output:

If i start the game from a shell then nothing suspicious happens. I only get the following warning ( i dont know, but i think that has nothing to do with update issues):
warning: The VAD has been replaced by a hack pending a complete rewrite

console.log:

I cant find nothing on the console.log either, but maybe im just not used to read something like that:
view: http://tools.heroesofnewerth.com/view.php?key=e0c9c435a001aca8&action=view
download: http://tools.heroesofnewerth.com/view.php?key=e0c9c435a001aca8&action=download

other things:

the wiki says i should:
"provide the output of glxinfo | grep -i "opengl\|direct\|server\|client" && lspci | grep -i vga && uname -a"
but the command glxinfo doesnt exist on my system.

the wiki also says:
"provide the associated crash report (remove old crash reports and recreate crash if required) "
but hon doesnt crashed.

This are all information i have about this problem i think. If i missed something tell me plz. I hope u can help me to fix this issue, cause i dont found a solution in other threads.

what happens if you just run the hon_update-x86 (or hon_update-x86_64)
only reason HoN won't update is a permissions issue OR network issue

Thx for reading.

If i run hon_update-x86_64 it seems the same like running hon. Because if i can update hon if i start it on windows i think that my problem is inside my linux system. Yes maybe wrong internet settings or permissions. But i dont know what i can do to find that problem.

In the past i could autoupdate in linux with hon. Maybe something changed cause of a linux update i did or something else. I dont know.

Any tips how i could find the problem?

console.log after a failed update would be a start, that will show if it is a fetching issue

There should be an update folder in your HoN install folder. remove that is a nice place to start as well

The problem is that i dont got a failed update, cause the update dont start.
I deleted the update folder and tried again, but nothing changed.

I just uninstalled hon and installed version 2.0.22 again. I dont know what changed but this time i got an autoupdate to version 2.0.24. I hope i get the update to the next patches automatically too.

Sry for the guys who have the same problem if there are any but i dont have any clue about that. I will report if this problem appears again.

Thx for trying to help Naib.

Now the problem appears again. I have version 2.0.24 and it seems 2.0.25 is out. Matchmaking says: "The version of your client is not compatible with the matchmaking server. Please update your client and try again."

I realy dont get this problem. Why i could update the first time when i installed hon and now i cant?

hon_update-x86_64 doesnt work either.

I tried to delete the update folder again but i dont have one.

A logfile wouldnt help this time again cause i dont get a crash :/

this might be due to the fact that the linux/mac client was delayed (as per the announcement in GD)
please try again now

I dont know why but the variable "upd_checkForUpdates" was set to "false". I couldnt set this variable ingame on "true". I had to close hon and change the value in my startup.cfg.
Now i can update again.
I never changed that value, dont know how this can happen...
Maybe u can write that in the wiki too.
