Note: NOT A USB HEADSET, it is a headset though! (With the pink and green thing) :S

I recently had to reinstall my Windows Vista, which involves me downloading HoN again. Now my mic works perfectly fine and I know this because I use vent on a daily basis.

I have tried "Begin Test" which it does recognize my voice.

While in game my push to talk keys don't seem to be recognized, I don't even get a microphone to pop up on the minimap or over my hero's head. I have also tried with not enabling the push to talk key, still no go Also while in the Hero Select screen I don't get my 3 dotted voice chat bubbled to turn green. I do believe I had this issue the first time I installed HoN, but I honestly don't remember how to fix it.

Also the only way for HoN to recognize my voice in the "Begin Test" is when I run HoN as admin, which I am sure I have done in the pass anyways.

I do run Windows Vista.

If I have to reinstall HoN, so it be. But if any of you guys are awesome enough to know the solution. I appreciate it and thank you kindly.

My sound drivers are up to date.

I have noticed if I spam T a lot or whatever my bind key is to talk. I can get it to hold for a few seconds, I have tried changing hot key same thing occurs. I did get it to work for one game... but next game it wasn't working at all. I tried reinstalling HoN, if anything that didn't make things better.

It seems when I can get it to pop up it's as if the push to talk key is delayed... yet I can't seem to talk at all when I have no key binded.

Would love some info, please and thanks!

When it finally works, can people actually hear you as well? And are you running the game as admin when this happens?

Yes when it does work, people can hear my loud and clear. I tried using another headset, same thing happens. I was running the game as admin when that happened. Yet when I reinstalled it I can't even get it to work now.

Can I see a console.log, please?

I have sent you a private message with the console.log information. Uploaded as directed by the forums.

I have come to one conclusion. Just curious to know if this matters;

For my ventrilo settings the input device is set to:

*Default direct sound device.

With the other two selections underneith:
*Line In (High Definition Audio Device)
*Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)Now the reason that interests me, is because under my Sound options in HoN, Line In and Microphone (High Definition Audio Device) is my only 2 options to select for my input.

That being said though perhaps *Default direct sound device is only a Ventrilo feature. But thought I would just point that out.

Also, I realized my voice chat on vent was not working till I changed it to Default Direct Sound Device, yet all my drivers are up to date though on my computer, I check everyday under the Control Panel. :/ Plus if it randomly worked that one time on HoN... it kind of conflicts. Man this is confusing, lol.

If you set Ventrilo to "Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)" it doesn't work? Or am I misunderstanding you?

If that is the case, I wonder what your default device is - it should tell you in your sound settings.

Says:

High Definition Audio Device

Checked marked off and labled as Working.

Could you please answer my other question as well?

Edit: The above looks like your default OUTPUT device, could you please check your default input (recording) device?
