Which hero would be the best all-around for:
1v1 EM?
1v1 non-EM?

When playing 1v1 is the best strategy to push ASAP or to try and kill the other guy?

lulz, it will never get to that point against 99% of the heroes in the game.

Assuming of course, you're playing 1v1 @ 603g not 3k.

You're not going to find a "true" best 1v1 hero, 1v1 is simply a game of counter picks. Get the right counter pick, and you're pretty much assured victory.

Blood Hunter? Get Arachna and enjoy the extra damage if he silences you.

Arachna? Get Succubus.

Hardly one of the worst, her combo is all she has and getting a high hp gain str hero to that threshhold is all you need to do. Either way, Predator isn't the best, nor only hero you can do that with.

Granted it'd be easier to do so with Jereziah with the heal aiding in the early laning phase, but when the time comes to kill he isn't nearly as reliable.

Either way, we're debating the minor point in picking certain heroes when the broader point is, there is no top pick.

Succubus is a great laner, however her effectiveness is negated simply with hp and she has no pushing power. She's not a chasing threat. I don't care how good a Succubus you are, an equally good player being defensive and not bringing himself in range of your disables until they reach the hp threshhold is very easy to do and then your biggest problems are simply ensuring you can kill her after the combo and outpush her.

That or hell, ensuring she can't cast the spells at all.

He won ~50 games and lost 1. He beat that player's Bane with his Rhasta.

Puzzlebox + 5 second disable rapes any enemy.
Pollywog's Wardtrap is unfair in 1v1 too.

Surrounded by his wards and 8,75 secs disable? Just with skills wtf!

Well the old standard 1v1 league rules in dota is first to 2 kills or 2 towers and starting gold 603 so I guess that's where my basis is coming from. I suppose its not explicitly specified but it's really silly to play 1v1 with max gold, as it completely undermines the point of laning...

Anyhow, Succubus is not a perfect laner, even at 603g, but she's far and away better than predator when considering limited gold gain. She's ranged for one, has great base stat growth, has a disable and a nuke, and can easily out-rune predator. Her effectiveness is not negated by a melee hero with poor lane-staying ability.

If you picked Bloodhunter you might have a case, but Predator is one of the worst picks here, a good succy can get two levels on a good predator simply because predator can't last hit safely :\

Wouldn't the best 1v1 then be Defiler, Zephyr, Tempest? Maybe Ophelia and Wildsoul too?

I have done 1v1, I was Zephyr, he was Pollywog. I won simply because I farmed a lot faster and in the end I just tanked his wards+tower for 9 seconds. Kept pushing.

reaper is a very powerful 1v1 hero too >.> dont know why noone considers him. his ulti is gg at 50%, and he can push a good deal too. if he can survive the early game that arachna/succy/polly have, he could easily defeat them.

predator - legionnaire - zephyr. they all have bd insurance ( if your opponents starts bd, those heroes can bd better )

if you want to vs always expect the unexpected. I usually hang on vs'es common things are.

- Vg starting
- Creep backdooring
- Usual BD
- Disconnecting for a while then reconnecting. This is acutally a fail attempt, they think you will disconnect too.

I find most people who solo mid don't appreciate early game enough and don't understand how valuable lane control is.

Most of the time I see people solo mid against a melee and stand back of their creep line XD.

I've come to the realization that the only thing that matters in 1v1 is pushing ability and evasion ability.

Zephyr is the best 1v1 hero. Followed by Wildsoul.
