Puzzlebox on blacksmith is so amazingly good it's not even funny. To me, pbox3 is absolute core on bs.

Just an idea: :corr::AssassinShroud:. Basically, you put your maxed-out conduit on a dude, then activate shroud to chase him invisibly while gaining charges. Then suddenly, you open fire with 400+ damage attacks. At level 10..
You could go shrunken head/whispering helm/rift shards after that. Nothing like an 1k crit from fog. Also, you can activate your ult before going invis for added hilarity.

that is some old-school dota right there.
Rikimaru + Radiance and since pubs didnt buy wards (sort of like in HoN) it was ggwp.
Puzzlebox is pretty core on blacksmith imo, not really unconventional.
Mock on bubbles seems like a real waste of money.

more hero specific:

Empath - :Steamboots: :chal: :PowerSupply: :FortifiedBracelet: (:WardOfSight:) Early game 'tanky' ganking Empath. :FrostwolfsSkull: for the lulz, otherwise pick one depending on how well you did early game and play normally, the better you did, the better the item in ascending order: :TabletOfCommand: :Astrolabe: :Hellflower: :Puzzlebox: :KuldrasSheepstick: :Codex:
:wild: - :PlatedGreaves: :AbyssalSkull: go bear form, push, early gg. (add :Astrolabe: :DaemonicBreastplate :Puzzlebox:, then whatever)

:swif: - :EnhancedMarchers: :Bottle: :HelmOfTheBlackLegio :HackNSlash: :StaffOfTheMaster: :DaemonicBreastplate :SymbolOfRage:. GANK THE WHOLE GAME THE MOMENT YOU HIT 7. I did this a few weeks ago playing as Andromeda had the wards on cool down all game and had only boots and bracer + mana battery. Soul stealer told me I was a noob and didn't have items. Oh and yeah... he said for me to put up wards because he was being ganked too much.
Anyways being legit here.. never bought wards again tru story.

Mock Swiftblade could work too though. You build tanky with Counterattack after Mock. With unlimited gold from slaughtering helpless pubs it could work.

For games where I'm the most likely target to get blown up by the carry and I need to gtfo. It's actually kind of legit, mostly because Witch Slayer's pretty much totally ability-based and his items don't matter that much.

:thun: + :Portalkey: is something I use at times. I like it. Staying outside the heat of battle spamming my Blast of lightning from different angles and good for chasing too.
:pand: + :Insanitarius: wrecks face. I especially love how the (often) losing team claim that I'm a noob for not going Bot(?) from MSI's build. Despite the fact that I just killed their FA with less than 4xFlurry. Nothing against the build he is using, I get it more often than Insanitarius, but damn people need to learn how to think for themselves and not just follow pro's items. Sure the pros has reason for building as they do, but that doesn't mean the heroes they play should always be built that way.
Ofcourse Shrunken Head is included in that build btw.

They said unconventional but GOOD, that is terrible...no mana regen, Inhuman Nature is not enough. Unlikely to be quite tanky enough either. You'll be wanting the tank **** early so you don't get repeatedly ganked on your way to 3400 gold, and having no extra mana regen, GL ever getting that Mock. Getting a Nome's in there would be a big help, but the goal should be a Null Stone or something else to keep your ass alive, not a Mock...and if the build had those things it wouldn't be unconventional anymore.
Unconventional for SR would probably involve a Codex to get people into ulti range sooner, and again, without proper survival and regen first, it wouldn't be good. Spellshards probably a better choice, and that's pretty bad for him too.

And again have fun farming that **** without some proper regen, your team is really gonna love you hanging around by the ancients instead of helping for the first what, 5-10 minutes?
Either way I'm sure they'll be pleased you can get off maybe one Judgment and an ult in each fight. More power to ya. Do what you want but don't call it 'good'

basically this :soulr: + :HelmOfTheBlackLegio:ShamansHeaddress::Mock::HelmO fTheBlackLegio:chal:, skilling Inhuman nature and use the creeps as a mana source (with proper last hitting), then :Mock:->:FrostfieldPlate: works pretty decently.
Ditch the Shamans if you're going Mock, I don't know why so many people do the Shamans+Hotbl combo, it's pretty all around horrible and turns you into nothing but a pretty useless "tank" that usually runs out of mana quickly, on any hero. :MysticVestments: is enough, then work on other pickups.
Unconventional for SR would probably involve a Codex to get people into ulti range sooner, and again, without proper survival and regen first, it wouldn't be good. Spellshards probably a better choice, and that's pretty bad for him too.Working off this for the lulz, you later change your :HelmOfTheBlackLegio into a :BehemothsHeart: and go Spellshards+:Codex: with the 500+ gpm you have from Mock and there you have it, a decently good unconventional build putting both your ideas together. :p
The problem is if you went Mock on a Reaper the game probably would've been over much earlier anyway, or you're playing with terribads. :p Still, it's a decently good unconventional build that works like a charm if you can pull it off.

Oh god, I could sit in this thread all day.
Some faves:
Oph, start with no items (except a ward, courier if your team needs it, sometimes a RoT if I feel like it.). Rush your first item to be mock, can be done at like ~12 minutes if you're quick and lucky. Procede to get marchers, SotM/whatever. Mock is insane farm and it rapes pretty much anything under level 10. If I'm feeling like a "safer game", ward and glove of swift to a rushed alch bones. Boots, Frostwolf skull and Sotm at 25 minutes = win. Conversely, a 10 minute Codex on Oph hurts pretty bad too if you max out judgement instead of wrath.
Soul Reaper - RoT + Sorc ring + marchers straight into a mock, then heart/spellshards. It's not super "unusual", but I like it more than a lot of other builds.

Maybe I'll try that sometime for the early stuff. My preferred build for Tort is something like :NomesWisdom::PlatedGreaves::Nullstone::StaffOfThe Master:, situationally :BarbedArmor: or :ShamansHeaddress:, occasionally :HelmOfTheBlackLegio, would go :SacrificialStone: if their lineup didn't warrant the Null (but how often is that right? there's always a few annoying single target spells), but well, nothing unconventional about any of that.
Just not a fan of :chal: on int heroes (except :blac:) since it was changed to not give health regen anymore. Tort has shitty health until you start getting items, HOTBL will help but seems like it'd have to come before the Chalice is finished ..so farming will be kind of a ***** with the lack of mana.. Chalice first you'd be sitting at half-or-less a lot of the time, which for early game Tort is gonna be what, 350... way too easy to burn down!

Solution: Jeraziah.
Seriously, try that ****. Put Warb in the jungle and Jeraziah in the double lane or solo mid. Warb pushes out early mock and Jera maxes shield. Nothing the enemy can do to stop that combo, since they won't have a Nullfire yet. Warb will pull an annihilation at 20 mins, then they'll push in rax.

i do this from time to time, usually its the allies going "wtf valk"
it's pretty crazy when you've got leap and portal key to just appear in fights and disappear at a moment's notice only to jump back at them again while they run for their lives.

actually works quite well, It's one of my favourites anyway.
It doesn't make him tanky...
but on the + side, you get harkons + lifesteal, pret sure damp is the only one who can do that without resorting to using :AbyssalSkull:
It makes his abilities do considerably more damage, and heal more... and if you have cats on your team that reduce magic armour then he is really monstrous.
This is good against heroes who can't rush :ShrunkenHead: because they need to farm other core items to be effective.
:doct::temp::behe::pebb:.
Generally I find that when I play this build, when I finally build my harkons, aim for the 14-24 min mark, you have a a huge damage output. Often raking in 20+ kills in a match, but you do eventually run out of gas, so you have to win before that
