i recently started playing hon again, took a year break and before i took the break i was able to talk to my clan members etc in lobby and what not.
i recently started plying again and got all the new patched installed.
i play a game and cant hear anyone talking. my sound works fine the mic apears over my character(but noone elses?).
i can talk in ventrilo, works fine skype etc. i can talk with the ingame voice thing to make sure my mic works and it supposedly does(the bar moves like its detecting sound), then when i go into a game/lobby nobody can hear me and i cant hear them.
i have tried reinstalling, making sure that disable voice isnt checked. disabled all my addons. tried resetting to default.
any ideas?

Just to make sure, could you test temporarily disabling it?

Are you using speakers, or a headset? Do you have multiple input/output devices plugged in?

i have headphones and an usb mic not attached to my headphones
only things i have plugged in is keyboard mouse mic and my headhpones thats attached to my sound system thats attached to my comp(not that that should matter).

So what kind of sound system is that? And how is it attached?

:| not sure why it would matter. i recieve ingame sound just not peoples voices. and it worked in the past so thats what makes me doubt its a hardware problem. i dont mean to be a jackass either.

heres what it is.
sony mini hi-fi component system mhc-GX99
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MHCGX99-Component-Changer-Subwoofer/dp/B000MSQ8YC

the headphones are pullged into the 'phones' jack on the system and then i have a wire that does from the audio in to the audio jack on my computer
kind of hard to see but heres pictures.

http://img707.imageshack.us/i/pict00022u.jpg/
the white wire is audio in and the black wire ( kind of hard to see ) is the headphone plugged in
http://img715.imageshack.us/i/pict00032n.jpg/
and the black wire closest to the bottom middle would be where the audio wire is plugged in.

thats about it. not sure i can give any more information then that.

bump?
ive asked all my friends people on different forums and people in-game and im clueless.
any ideas?
should i try installing hon on a different computer on the same internet network and see if it works?
but even that probley wont work cause i tried turning off my firewall.
maybe i have to open a certian port on my router?

Voice chat uses the same ports as the game servers, so it shouldn't be an issue, but if you want to, please give that a shot.

The ports are 11235 - 11335

figured it out. some how my firewall was blocking the port when it was closed. so i just allowed all traffic for hon and finally it worked.
i didnt see the port 11335 in the list so i just allowed everything. it didnt say it was blocking it but apparently it was when i allowed all traffic
