End Game Match Inventory Truncation 3.25.2011

Due to the overwhelming success of the current promotion we are going to begin truncating the end game match inventory display. At the end of the day this inventory will only be able to be displayed for the last 30 days, essentially February 25th on.

We have been working behind the scenes on a new database solution that is expected to roll out in the next 60 days. When this is implemented prior match inventory history before the February 25th cut-off will then be available again.

The new database system will allow HoN to grow to over 250,000 concurrent users to help handle the load from future plans that we are working on.

For a short period of time you won't be able to view your "inventory" as part of match stats for any time before Feb 25th. Once they make the necessary infrastructure upgrades, they will re-enable inventory display for all match history (as it current is).

Yeah well you should be truncating all stats to the last 30 games played as well to give a more accurate display of player stats instead of taking into account how shitty we all were when we started playing and averaging that into our current skill level.

He basicly means that due the new promotions the game is getting a massive number of new players/users making the database gets "heavy" so they are removing some unecessary displays/usage in order to make it "light" while they work on a new database that will support the number of players we got now and for their future plans ( i think ).

As his post indicated, they are doing it because they need to make upgrades to how they're handling data. Each game creates hundreds of data points and the $10-account and 2xCoins promotion have obviously resulted in an uptick in activity that is putting a strain on their systems.

And you WILL be able to see what items people end with, but you WON'T be able to see those items for anything prior to Feb. 25th for something like two months until they can make the switches. Infrastructure upgrades are not as simple as you might expect.

I believe what S2 is saying is this:

We are making so the endgame inventory stats (what items hero's had after a game displayed in the endgame stats) only last for 30 days after the match is recorded.

At that point they are deleted so the server no longer has to save the info freeing up space for more games.

The reason for this is because of the promotion weekend they have had a HUGE increase in players and in turn (obviously) a HUGE increase in games played along with endgame stats that need to be stored.

I hope this clears it up if some are still not understanding.
