Pharoh's ultimate

Just a basic question, but in general is it more beneficial to directly target the hero that you want to stun or aim a little behind them? I ask because a pharoh was able to disrupt both myself as tempest and a friend as magmus when we were timing our ultimate's. I was under the impression his ultimate stops as soon as he hits his main target and stuns anyone else along the way.

yeah, his ult will stop at the first enemy it hits, and with staff it will stop at the first ally or enemy you hit with it. as far as aiming it goes it is pretty quick, so you do not need to anticipate too much, but a little bit is the way to go. also dont forget the small aoe it has as he is passing people. so when he stopped both of you its because you were close enough to each other that his ults aoe stunned the target that it did not hit
