I just played my first few LoL games today, this is what it's like.

Im an average casual white male, who's never played league of legends. I just installed it on my pc and played 3 games; this is my experience.

If you are brand new, you basically have a hero pool of about 8 heroes to choose from. In addition to your standard four spells you can also choose 2 spells that make you ungankable, (you can choose a heal, a phase boots like ability, a slow etc)

Every hero has a huge mana pool so everyone just spams spells which do little damage. The spell effects are also lackluster even the ultimates.

On a side note, if you are an average player in hon, you will be a god in LoL. I went 15-0-15 in all 3 games.

TL;DR LoL is a fun game because you can dominate 12 year olds and its free, but it will never be as good as hon.

lol isn't dota, and it isn't hon, but it's not a terrible game either. just not built for competitive (i am using that term loosely) play at all.

Things get harder once you start to level up. I'm a 1700 MMR HoN player. Started LoL and it was ballsack easy. At level 16 now though and I've been rolled by level 30 runed out Master Yi's like 9 games in a row.

Only hero I enjoyed in League of Lag was Blitzcrank, because I could hook them fukers in so easily it wasn't even funny. But glaring imbalances and a stupid glyph system (ontop of being limited to 8 heroes per week qq) made me quit after three games.

i just dont find it that fun. im about level 13, my friends are all level 20+. every game goes 60 minutes with maybe 30 total kills, half the time is spent wandering around the woods doing nothing or chasing someone who blinks behind the towers of death so you aren't allowed to play anymore. at some point a tryndamere or yee bursts out of the trees and kills everyone and then you type gg.

Onix - you are completely talking **** out of your penis. If you are playing LoL for the first time and you are entering a level 30 game with a friend who has a decent account of win/loss; there is no way you are going to be running that score.

And Vladimir is just as balanced as Sand Wraith. Actually, Vladmir is probably easier to kill. Considering there can never be more than 1 of him, and he can't disappear off the map, or cross terrain every 10 seconds, and at most he can dodge stuff every 20 seconds but at the cost of 20% of his HP.... so yeah.

And Jeroz.. yeah a friend and myself in a game 1720 and 1640 MMR, playing with a 1480 who is playing his 3rd game.. That's one amazing MM system too.

But yeah.. w/e you guys can keep talking. I am not going to bother trying to convince morons otherwise.. But if you really want to have a proper discussion; reach level 30, which you can do in 3 weeks (like I did); play a 100 or so ranked games; reach more that 1400ELO at teh very least, and sustain it. Then you come back (bring pie); and i'll discuss this **** with u, if you still think LoL is a game for downers.

As casual and white as you are, this belongs in Off-Topic. We all know what LoL is like. They play HoN, feed in NM, go play CM and still feed, then go back to LoL and complain how **** HoN is.

I got to like level 20 in LoL with a ridiculous KDR and win percentage. It has a lower skill cap than any competitive game I've ever played without exception. It's kinda fun, and if I only had a few hours a week and couldn't afford $30, and my computer was made of rice crackers so I couldn't notice the blatant terrible graphics compared to Rayman for DOS, and if I was 10 and didn't mind the bright colours and characters stolen either from Cartoon Network or hentai, and if my IQ (and thus, my ability to spell and logically make decisions) dropped to below 50, I might be able to play it on a regular basis.
